hi - thanks for checking out my post,
i have learned a lot by reading the melasma and hyperpigmentation threads. unfortunately, i couldn't get hyperpigmentation into my subject heading.
i am having an MRI and no physical sunscreens are allowed. so many today are a blend of chemical and physical. i am unbelievably sensitive to sunlight. let alone the cosmic rays of a machine like that. the only thing that has worked for me are madelic acid peels from MUAC (i tried TCA, and other peels but i am really, really fair, and they made my patches - on my forehead, cheeks, and moustache area even worse); kojic acid soap; and cape fear naturals kojic acid cream. i use retinol at night. and i use bioderma photoderm max spf 50 day, and night. crazy huh? but it has been working. oh, i forgot, i am eating msm, graperfruit seed extract, vit c, in my smoothies and taking zinc. i also made a vitamin c serum with msm powder that i use at night after the kojic acid soap. i followed a recipe i found on here (or makeup alley). i'll find it, if anyone is interested.
so now, i am on the look out for the most chemically packed sunscreen i can find? i don't know if that will even be okay in an MRI machine. some of those nasty ingredients contain trace amounts of metals?! sigh.
if anyone can help me, or offer advice, i'd appreciate it. right now, i'm thinking my best bet is to buy a pair of running shorts that are spf 50 guarded, or whatever that is (and i should know) and put them over my face, considering they are MRIing my back.
TIA,
catherine |
