I've never heard of Royal Jelly until today. What is it? Is it a DIY?

Hi! I take a Royal Jelly supplement regularly as it is believed to help with fertility issues. It is a natural product derived from bees. I think its the super food that bees make to feed to the young lava that they want to turn into queen bees. It is full of antioxidants, minerals and proteins. You can buy skincare products with it in too but I haven't tried those. Royal Jelly is also believed to help with anti aging. I have only been taking it for a few weeks so I cant report any skin improvement yet.

Royal jelly promotes collagen when used with AA2G (stable form of vitamin C):

"In an in vitro study, ROYAL JELLY has promoted the collagen production of skin fibroblasts in the presence of ascorbic acid-2-O-α-glucoside (AA-2G), the increase of the collagen production being induced by 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid
(10H2DA) and 10-hydroxydecanoic acid
(10HDA) in a dose-dependent manner."

Where did you get your royal jelly from? I got some but didn't take it yet. Trying to finish all my other supplements first.

I was told to keep mine in the freezer.

Definitely taking vitamin c and e combined really helped my skin so I hope royal jelly will be even better.

Yes, you do store it in the freezer and it looks like wax. You scrap it with a spoon.
You may have to see a bee farmer for freshness. Call them in advance so they can tell you when is a good time to get one.

It does look like that. I got it from a bee keeper. I know some of them are in capsules which doesn't seem fresh to me. I was just wondering since it's not that easy to find.

You can get it cheaper in Chinatown and they come in vials you have to break to drink the jelly. My dad used to make me drink them when I was a kid. But I wouldn't trust the quality now. Even bee keepers can't really guarantee organic because of cross contamination.

Is it kind of a blah, waxy flavor? Like waxy dirt?

I was considering adding this into my daily supplements but when stuff tastes too gross it's not worth it to me

So I tried my royal jelly today. It does have the waxy taste which I don't mind but it tastes sour. Is that normal? I thought it would taste at least honeyish.

This is nothing like the ampoules of royal jelly my dad used to get from Chinatown.

Yes, royal jelly does taste sour normally (I am a beekeeper). I haven't actually used up as a supplement as read that in studies on animals, all the animals gained weight taking it. I don't need any help gaining weight!! Rolling Eyes

Don't use hot water for Royal jelly. It will damage the vitamin and make it sour

I will just say as no one else said it: don't use hot water for Royal Jelly :P

Seriously though, it's awesome and works but not for everyone. Use it for a while and see if you're satisfied with results.
