I have the kind of acne that burried deep under the skin, mostly on my chin, and they don't have heads, just bumpy and red and hurt. So I went to the doctor and he gave me Retin-A for me to put allover my face every night. I have done it before about a year ago and I don't really like it cause it's really drying, and I was self-councious because my skin was flaky. I actually don't want to go down that road again, but i'm frustated and don't know what else to do about my acne. I also wonder, is it safe to use Retin-A every day in a long term? |

I used it everyday for 18 yrs. No side affects ( other than the dry itchy, tight feeling. Which will go away after about 6 weeks. It does work, send me yr email and I'll send youa pic. I am 64 and look like I am in my forties.
I stopped it for about 4 yrs now. ( just because I moved and never bother to get a RX) I recently started Renova, just because I am older and it has more moisture. We'll see ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

Major studies have yet to find any serious long term consequences, and it's been on the market for 30 years. The consensus is that it's excellent for long term use and helps reverse skin damage. There are a few of those conspiracy-theory type warnings out there, but none of them have been backed up by real research. |
