Depends on the cause, it can be from irritation or sun damage. If you are treating hyperpigmentation it will lighten freckles. |

How can you tell which one it is? It's weird, I have freckles across my nose and a little under my eyes and cheeks. I have a patch of white skin on the side of my nose where freckles used to be. Not sure whats going on there? |

hi, i'm new to these boards. uneven skin tone. for me, that's a battle i have fought since i had my son. i had a condition called melasma, more commonly known as "pregnancy mask." so hormones, aging, sun damage. . . so many things can pay a role in getting an uneven skin tone. i think the thing is to do your very best to try and correct it when you first notice it, and not wait, like i did |

OMG well, women, especially older women like myself have been asking this question for years. there are tonnes of products on the market, but, personally, i wouldn't waste my money. why? because they serums they will sell to you will be, more often than not, vitamin c and e based serums, and you can make your own at home. there are many recipes on the net. if you are hesitant, just go and look at the ingredients at a high end serum that says it is for brightening, or evening out skin tone, and look at the ingredients - write them down even. when you google them, you'll find that they are almost identical to the ones you'll see being made on youtube. and then there are anti-aging creams, and creams for dark spots and evening skin tones. their magic ingredient(s) are usually retinol, vitamin c, kojic acid, and licorice root. you can walk into your dr's office and ask for a prescription for retinol, pay 26 dollars for it (in my case) as opposed to 100, and it will have 5 times more retinol in it than the expensive creams. or you could buy something like cape fear's kojic acid cream (gotta love the name) which has all of the above listed ingredients in it. we have to be on our toes, girls. the cosmetics and skin care industries wants to sucker us out of our money. but. . . if we do a little research, we just might find a way aroung them. anyway, i used to do research for a living, so i started looking into this stuff when i got mad about paying 70 bucks for a small jar of anti-aging cream. gotta run |

Uneven skin tone also known as hyperpigmentation is one of the common skin problem people has no matter what the complexion are. The main cause of uneven skin tone in the long period of sun exposure. The UVA light from the sun is one of the cause of flat brown lesions.
One way to prevent uneven skin tone is to wear sunscreen. The higher the sunscreen factor the more protection you have from harmful rays of the sun. |
