I recently bought a tube of Retin-a (0.1%) to use for wrinkles and it turned out to be way too strong. My face burns for days after using it.
So I've got to find something to mix with it to dilute it. I am not sure what to use because I know certain things will decrease the absorption and I don't want that.
How do I know what would be good to use? I'd prefer something without tons of ingredients. |

Retin A (especially at that %) is so powerful that nothing will decrease the absorption, it will only make Retin A weaker, which is what you want.
You can use anything you want: oils (if you a fan), HA Serum, favourite moisturizer, etc.
Some dermatologists say that Retin A should be applied on top of an occlusive agent (aka cream), some say it should be applied under. |

I buy 0.1% Retin A and use plain 100% aloe gel to cut it. Works great and saves me $$. |

As a skin care therapist, I normally recommend that clients mix a small amount (less than a pea size) with a moisturizer and start with applying at night one time per week. The following week apply 2 times per week, the third week 3 times and at 4 weeks apply about 4-5 nights. Never use it daily. The skin needs about a month to build tolerance to higher levels of Retin-A. I also recommend alternating topial Vitamin C with the Retin A. |
