Hello all!

Its been almost a month since I have started using Vit C serum and I havent noticed any improvement in my skin yet. If anything my skin is going thru some weird faze breaking out a lot!

I am not sure If the Vit C might be contributing to the breakouts...could it?

How soon did you guys notice improvement with Vit C?

Thanks!

*yikes* - nothing?! If I recall correctly, I pretty much saw results in the first few days - an improvement in skintone and clarity...in a month or so, a smoothing of fine lining.....I've heard of people breaking out with vc serum - perhaps an allergy - or a hyper-reaction by the oil glands because of how "active" vitamin c is?...not sure....what vitamin c serum are you using?

Hello Pudoodles!

I am using CSRx Vit C serum 12 % Wink

I wonder if maybe this brand is not right for me since I see no results and might be breaking out because of it...

Do you think I would have the same issues with all Vit C serums?

Hi Aga

Ive been using Vivier for about 9 days now and to be honest, I don't know what results Im looking for. I would expect it to take a few weeks before my skin adjusted. Fingers crossed we see something soon.

for me it was about a couple weeks...I noticed more clarity and a nice glow almost immediately, then had a bit of breakouts and then it cleared up...

I don't have sun damage aside from fine lines.

Gosh - I don't know, Aga...I've never had a reaction to the vc's I've used...and I have no experience with CSRx at all Embarassed Hopefully, someone will come along with some good advice - I recall some people on the board experiencing the same thing as you...I'm sure someone will come forward soon!

Hi Aga!

I was also getting more breakouts when I started using SkinCeuticals C+AHA. Then, I started reading on the forum that some people may go through a purging stage. I now have been using the Serum for 2 months and my skin just started clearing up, I have 1 pimple this morning which appeared (which I am starting to think is from the SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5%). I had started both products at the same time and my skin went crazy with breakouts. I stopped both, and then started again with just the Vit. C serum. I used the Retinol 0.5% last night and woke up with a large white pimple. So, I am thinking the Retinol maybe be the culprit.

As far as the Vit. C. Changes I have noticed -my skin is clear from breakouts, the skin tone is more even, and the skin on my face and along my jawline seems tighter.

You lucky ladies! I wish I could see the results and not have the breakouts...

I am not sure what to do, because I am afraid the Vit C gives me the breakouts, but I feel like I cant let it go to waste and if I stop using it for a while it will turn and will be no good anymore. Confused

Aga it may not be the vitamin C. You have been having break outs since your facial and you have changed products a few times since then. Stick with the vitamin c, most people swear by it so it may be something else you are using. Are you putting too many layers on. Whats in your routine at the moment?

I don't know if this is a general rule but I saw initial results of the vit C serum (less dull looking skin) probably after a few days and it took a few weeks to improve. The first serum I started with was Skinceuticals Serum 10 and then moved on to Vivier (and tried Cellex-C and CSRx somewhere in between).
