Hi everyone

this is my first post so would really appreciate your advice.

I've been using Retin A for about nine months. I've seen a lot of posts on this forum about hyaluronic acid and wondered what product is best to buy and whether I can use it whilst I am using Retin A? Or would it be better to use a Vitamin C serum? I am confused by all the products available.

I have also been using Botox round my eyes for crows feet. I am not sure if it is connected but I am getting pouches under my eyes and wondered if anyone had experience of the two being connected.

Thanks!

Welcome Rhunt!
I wasn't sure if you were wanting to mix the HA with your Retin A or use at another time during the day. I don't know enough about using HA to speak to that...however I would recommend using a Vit C serum in the AM. There are many good products on the market or you could go the cheaper, fresher way, and make your own with L Asboric Acid crystals or powder and distilled water. (Tons of more elaborate Vit C recipes can be found on the SKINCARE TOOlS FORUM.)

Vit C and HA are very different items. Vit C is a great antioxidant and HA is great for boosting our moisturizer as it great at holding in moisture.

You can use Vit C and HA in the morning and retin-a at night.

Welcome rhunt glad you could join us!!!

mountaingirl hit the nail right on the head with the DIY vitamin-c. There is a recipe that includes hyaluronic acid - so you could have the best of both worlds.
You would use the retin at night and the c-serum in the morning.

here is the link to the recipe

I have used hyaluronic acid with retin A. Not mixed, but the hyaluronic acid was a serum, I put it on first and let it absorb, then applied the retin A. I had no problem doing this.

I can't comment as to the best product, I got mine from Isomers.

I've been reading these posts and just realized they are quite old.

I am using Retin A and wanted to incorporate Vit C and now saw should be using hyaluronic acid.

Would like to try the recipe posted here.

Any advise? If I don't make the recipe for Vit C serum, what is a good brand to buy?

How about a brand of hyaluronic acid?

I would not recommend to use your HA serum with Retin A. Especially, if do not want to make Retin A stronger. That water in HA will enhance the effect of Retin A. That is why all doctors recommend applying on a very dry skin.

I do not know it can be a problem using HA after Retin A. It's good to know something more.
