Are all vitamin C serum the same. Does it matter which brand you buy. I'm thinking about buy avon vitamin c serum and don't know if it'll work or not.. |

Not all vit c serums are the same. Some on silicon-based while others are not. Also some are MAP based, l-ascorbic acid based etc.
Sorry, I don't have a rec for you since my sensitive skin does not tolerate vit c serum.
Good luck in finding one that works for you. |

Hi vivian0384 - if you use the search feature in the upper right hand corner you will find a million-and-one vitamin c threads - I think it's a pretty regular topic - check it out.
Cheers,

I've read Vivier, Skinceuticals and Cellularskinrx are very popular here. |

I had used both skinceuticals and cellex c in the past and really didn't much like them. I got a sample of the Vivier 20 and I have to say I like it much much better. I ordered it from EDS in mid-February, but am still waiting for it.... |

I've used Cellex C, Vivier C 20 and most recently, a vial of the Skinceuticals C15 serum...The Skinceuticals texture sits between Cellex C and Vivier - and I like it the best - so I ordered it!

katee thats a long time for an order to arrive, have you emailed customer service? I must admit I ordered mine mid February and it did take alot longer to arrive, but I got it just over a week ago. Not sure of what I think of it. Its quite watery and I probably goes through more than necessary just to get a coverage. It seems to evaporate. Hope you get your package soon. |

Hi Cindi - it should penetrate very quickly into the skin and leave you feeling pretty much like you've done nothing at all (maybe a slight pinkishness to the skin and slight tingling..)..the Vivier leaves my skin feeling comfortable - but there is no residue... if there is a visible shine at all - you are probably using too much..

Hi Pudoodles, I do get a bit of tingling when I put on the Vivier, and there is no residue left, it soaks it, more like disintergrates. Im not giving up on this product however, Im in for the long haul. As for the vivier cleanser, it smells very fruity, citrusy, its a very thick creamy wash, looks more like shampoo but other than that it cleans make up off and leaves the skin soft, but its no different to any other foaming cleanser, its nothing to rave about. I was hoping the Vitamin C would work better on the back of the using the cleanser. |

I know what you mean Cindi...I think that, generally speaking (for me anyways)most cleansers are pretty unremarkable...and as long as they don't dry my skin out - I'm pretty happy. It seems like you know what you are doing with the vc...I sure hope you get some good results

Not all vitamin C serums are the same. There are differences in the base of the serum, the concentration of the vitamin C and the type of vitamin C (which relates to stability as well). Also, the pH of a serum is important. In general you should look for an l-ascorbic serum that is packaged in an amber glass bottle to protect it from light. If you do a search here you'll find a few reading-weeks worth of information about it |
