Hello
As you can see I'm new here.
I've been going from one dermatologist to another trying to get information on having a healthy young looking skin.
I only accepted one of them because her skin was a skin of youthful young women where she was in her late 40s.
All I was told is skin (face) needs three main "things"
-Vitamin C
-Vitamin E
-Collagen (peptides)
Also, moisturizing the skin and staying away from the sun. Peeling treatments and retinol are a big NO.
But here in this forum I was amazed of the many products used and devices. The only device I have is Nuface and just started using it.
Can someone help me with this. I'm in my late 20s and got confused, am I on the track or left behind... |

I'm a newbie to the boards and was just browsing some of the new posts when I read yours and saw you say "retinol is a big no". Is this true? I'm a 25 year old female with redness and uneven skin tone to the face with occasional mild breakouts and retinol has helped me so much, alongside the bha that I am currently using. Can someone please explain why retinol isn't a good thing to be using? I've never heard anyone say that before although I honestly haven't been onto a skincare forum like this before. Any help is much appreciated. |

I've recently got into serious skin care product myself and I around about your age (late 20s. I just started throwing everything I heard was good at my face after quite a lot of online research.
I'm not certain this is the right thing to do as I've seen adverse effect on my face. I do use retinol serum though and this is suppose to dry your skin out initially.
I use Vitamin C/E serum
a retinol serum
Zinc Oxide sunscreen with vit C/E
moisturiser for dry skin
Antioxidant serum
I tend to alternate these but maybe I should rethink the whole thing. I mostly buy Paulas Choice and Futurederm products and also take their advice on skin care.
Those things you listed sound right. I'd be interested to know why your derm says retinol in a big No. |

After reading your post I just think for while that you are so young only 20 years old, I think in this age the skin is naturally beautiful, if you want to use any cream then try to use only very few creams more believe in natural products. If you want to use any cream or product for skin then never use any chemical based cream only use natural products or herbal creams which didn't leave any side effect. |
