I saw this article yesterday, and though I've never used any of the products in question, I totally get how bummed people can get when a favorite product is no longer offered.
For me - off the top of my head...I can think of three -
1. Pureology Texture Twist - LOVED this stuff - the only paste that made my hair piecey buy not flat - I have tried ALL of Pureology's newer pastes/waxes and none of them compare... WHY, PUREOLOGY.... WHY????????????????
2. Lancôme - Strawberry Dorre lipstick - what an AWESOME shade of red this lippie is/was. I LIVED in it - it was the perfect not too warm, not to cool lippie...
3. Maybelline - Illegal Lengths Mascara... Though I found another lover in Cover Girl's Lash Blast - I was still bummed when Illegal Lengths was no more - just a really good mascara for me.

The recently discontinued Purminerals lipstick in Black Amethyst. I love love that lipstick! It's the perfect sheer dark plum/berry shade with not a hint of brown/yellow undertones. I believe I got the last tube from EDS...
And I still miss the long discontinued PSF 20% C serum. |

I have had a lot of hair products change formula or be discontinued.
Wella In-depth Re constructor
Works great and I purchased from Sally
Wella Regenal - Instant pH Normalizing Lotion
Another low cost buy from Sallys. Great for smoothing the cuticle down especially after colouring.
Nexus products. This was a great salon line and now it is drug store and the quality is not the same.
Any replacement suggestions? |

I've had many favorites either discontinued or reformulated and ruined. My top three would include: Jane Iredale's Pure Pressed (the previous incarnation didn't include algae and plankton & was a great foundation); Ystheal Gel - great, non-comedogenic retinaldehyde; and Halsa Hair, a great, inexpensive shampoo.
It's also a shame that Clinique reformulated their iconic DDML after 40 years. I never thought they'd ever do it. |

I posted on another post asking if anyone has tried the kheils deep wrinkle cream with copper peptide? I bought it and haven't started using it yet as I got wary of the copper peptide after reading scary reviews, not with that brand, but the copper peptide alone.
What I use which I love and can recommend is the Psoria Gold turmeric cream, which is for sensitive skin. Turmeric is a miracle herb, and I trust nature, and trust this product.
Also I use the isshogenki supplement, which is the most reliable source of squalene, as it's taken from the cleanest waters in New Zealand. (I did my research). It's a bit pricey but really worth the benefits. It's the best thing for our skin..
Those along with Lots of water everyday is a great natural beauty routine, as it's best to renew our skin from the inside, which takes at least 30 days to see results... |

I think the Dermaglow 8% AHa lotion is gone. Their website has an error and it was 40% off last year. I got two bottles of the AHA and one of the AHA toner.
I really love this lotion as it is timed released so I get exfoliation with no burning. I'm on my second tube. Not sure what to use to replace it now. |

This looks like a pretty great service from Three Custom Color Specialists for beloved but discontinued cosmetics:
Quote: |
Send them a color swatch or the last sliver of a favorite discontinued lipstick and they will duplicate it so accurately you will be stunned. And if you love the results as much as we suspect you will (particularly if a favorite lipstick shade is no longer available) you'll be impressed that Three Custom keeps everything they did to recreate the shade on file, so reordering is easy. |
Apparently they are able to re-create not just lipsticks but other cosmetic products. They also maintain an extensive searchable archive of discontinued shades. See this link on Beautypedia for the entire write-up with lots of detail: http://www.paulaschoice.com/beautypedia-skin-care-reviews/by-brand/three-custom-color-specialists/_/Lip-Color-Palettes
Has anyone tried their service? Here is the website: http://www.threecustom.com/home.php?cat=253 |
