After a few false starts, I finally get this product-and it works!! At first, I felt it was too heavy for my skin and I looked too oily during the day. At night, I couldn't figure out when to add my retinol product and ended up looking greasy My eyes looked crepey and I would add another eye cream.
Then, I read on another thread that you should wait a while (maybe an hour) at night before you add a retinol or any other product. So, I used the prep, okusil and alphaderma (also around my eyes this time) and went to watch Lou Dobbs on CNN. Naturally, I fell asleep till the next morning Lou does this to me.
The next morning I checked in the mirror, my skin looked great.
I've been doing this for a few days now, and my skin looks firmer, stronger moer resilient. In the morning, I stll use my vit c. serum-won't give that up) For my eyes, I use the prep, okusil & alphaderma as my eye cream; again, as Winnie said, not going close to the lash line and only around the brow bone on top. That pesky new line I got under my eye (every year it's a new one) is gone.I also find that I don't need my retinol.Yikes! I don't believe I said that!
That being said, Its hard for me (oily skin) to wear it under a heavy-duty LaRoche Posay sunblock. Unfortunately, I'll be going to Greece this summer (that's not the unfortunate part ) and I'll need strong sunblocks otherwise I'l come back a mottled mess. I have melasma and always comeback like patchwork quilt. Luckily, Montreal winters take care of it. Heavy products make my pores look like craters and the heat there in summer is unbelievable.
I'll probably switch to light products for summer (IS Clinical now on short list- thanks Katee ) but will use alphaderma it in winter. I will certainly continue using it for my eyes-don't want to see that line come back although I had to figure out how to make the products travel friendly.
If you have normal or dry skin lucky you) you can use these products year round without a problem. |

marina,
I am so happy that the AlphaDerma is working out well for you.
After using it for so long I find that the less product I use with the ADCE line the happy my skin is.
If you are looking for a great SPF when you go away Jan Marini's SPF 30 is lovely. Not greasy and actually good for your skin.
Winnie
