I started using an AHA cream that had 6% lactic acid and I noticed it had lavender oil too. I remember I once used lavender oil straight on my skin and don't think I noticed adverse reactions. I used this AHA cream day and night for about 5 days. I noticed some slight oddity to my skin where it seemed to have random bumps that would arrive and then vanish, but it seemed to be fine and my skin looked and felt normal aside from those random bumps that came and went. And yesterday I washed it off my face in the morning and applied Eucerin daily protection sunscreen and went outside to sunbathe for about 2 hrs. After that, slowly as the night went on experienced itching, redness and new small bump pustules. (I can't even really tell if they are totally new because my skin is horrible and full of bumps all over my face for years which is why I was trying the AHA cream in the first place. It's almost like maybe these bumps I already had are getting irritated immensely because I feel itchiness and stinging/slight burning and some pink/redness has formed.
I'm so sick of my skin. I just wanted to get rid of these bumps, instead it seems I have possible new bumps and itchiness and maybe an allergic reaction. I don't know if maybe this is a good sign, maybe the cream is finally getting the bumps to come to the surface?? I just don't get why my skin would itchy in order for that to happen, but maybe it would if my bumps have been stuck on my skin for years?
Please help.
I don't know what to do anymore. |

I would stop the new AHA product for now. If you have itchiness it sounds like a reaction.
I would introduce new products gradually. My skin is very reactive so I always patch test a small area first. |
