Hi there,
This is my first post. I have had a bit of trawl through previous posts on similar topics but don't have loads of time so sorry if this is a familiar sounding story.
I am in my mid thirties and feel aging really starting to show on my face. I have battled with sensitive, acne prone skin most of my life and used lots of products/treatments, not all of which I feel have really helped and so these days I take a pretty minimalist approach to skin care. I recently had a baby and am still bfeeding and so I think due to hormonal changes acne is not so much of an issue these days, however I do have to be careful about what moisturisers I use as my pores seem to get blocked so easily. My main issue is that my skin looks so dehydrated and fine lines are becoming a lot more visible all over, with red and flakiness and just generally looking irritated and in poor condition. I don't really 'cleanse' my skin everyday but tend to just to a papaya powder mask every few days when I shower for exfoliation and try not to get my skin wet other than that. I don't often wear make up, but use a light spf moisturiser during the day and use rosehip oil at night. I am wary of using vit a products atm due to bfeeding although not sure if that really an issue?
So my question is, what can I use to improve overall condition of my skin to address these issues/tackle dryness/fine lines, whilst not clogging my skin up/causing a break out etc?? I've heard good things about tamanu oil, anyone tried this? I prefer to use natural products if I can but will try cream/serum if necessary.
Many thanks in advance.

I'm not an oil person and can't speak about them first hand but the rosehip and the Marula Oil you mention both have good reputations of repairing some of the damage you're seeing.

Otherwise, I think you need to consider some kind of exfoliation daily. I'm not talking anything aggressive or harsh at this point especially since you need to repair your skin barrier. It could be a mild enzyme or lactic acid type facewash or a microfiber cloth but you need to do it on a daily basis. The mask every few days isn't cutting it.
You also might want to consider something with niacinamide like Cerave.
I do think some of us overwash our natural oils and over-exfoliate sometimes but I do think everyone needs to wash their face at least once a day...usually at night. This is a good time to exfoliate so that the good stuff you want to penetrate can get past all those dead skin cells.
You can make do in the mornings with a hydrosol toner/cleaner that's very mild and hydrating and healing.
And if you're not already doing so try to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.
It's not easy for me but I do see a difference when I don't

If you're insensitive to mineral oils, you can use lamer. It's very powerful for healing. If you can use it for 1-3 years, it's definitely going to be great. One of my friends is treated like this. Now her skin is very healthy.
