Have just got my EDS box of goodies and after I had read all the wonderful things about mineral make-up - well I had to try it for myself, so I got the Bare Escentuals Multi Tasking in Bisque to try as a concealer over some small blemishes, I normally use MAC studio finish.
It did not really cover anything up so where am I going wrong???
How much coverage has everyone else had with this ?? The shade by the way is really good on me. |

I dont know. I use it with the brush it came with and it covers really well I put a bit on the brush swirl it in the lid and apply it to redness, couple of little brown patches etc and it really works, can't remember if it maybe took a few go's for the brush to get loaded up with product. Keep trying it is definitely the best concealer i have used and the easiest.

I get great coverage with it...I don't know what is happening, Rosebud! Are you using a good brush? That's really odd..

I'm using my MAC concealer brush - the boyfriend will go mad if I buy yet another brush 
I will mess about it again tomorrow morning
The loose eye liner is great - I will not need to buy an eye liner for years now, you get loads!!! |

You are not alone there.
The bisque did nothing for me either - no matter how I tried to use it, nothing was covered! I don't have huge blemishes either so it wasn't like I was asking for it to do miracles!!
It's weird though because I gave it to my Mom and she thinks it's amazing and it really works for her??

| Rosebud I use the complete cover brush which is basically a foundation brush and buff rather firmly over my brown patches before I apply my foundation. Then if I need to I apply again on top of my foundation using a soft brush |

It may have something to do with the brush you are using.
The BE concealer brush has bristles which feel soft on the skin, but are firm. I get good spot coverage with this brush.
If the bristles on your brush are too soft, they might not be distributing the concealer well. |

| The multi-tasking make-up is good, but it is not a concealer. A better J.I. concealer for belmishes would be Disappear or Cover Care Camoflage. |

try applying it in a different order. If you put it on before your foundation (common mistake) when you apply the foundation it will just wipe the concealer away. put it on after foundation and then powder over it.
try colour wash corrective concealers as well.. use green for redness.. lilac for yellowness and yellow for dark circles, then apply regular concealer over the top of it. doesn't work very well on spots thou. |

I initially bought this to test the BE mineral make-up. Maybe you could advise me, I am confused now.
When I put my make-up on all I use is my MAC concealer (the studio finish one) and then sometimes, not always a sweep of MAC powder to take away any shine. Then a bit of bronzer on my nose, forhead, cheeks.
So I thought the multi tasking Bisque might take the place of my MAC concealer - can you see what I've done 
What I want to know is - would the Jane Iredale mineral loose base be able to replace all my MAC?
I know you can use it all over as a powder, but what is the coverage like as a concealer on blemishes and spots, when you apply with a concealer brush?
Also what is the Disappear like used on it's own for covering spots, blemishes and small break outs??
Oh I'm all so confused |

lol. loose powder tends to be unpigmented (hence translucent) so it wont cover over your spots. I too am a bit confused about what exactly you use! So here is my advice...
After moisturising leave your skin for ten minutes and allow the moisturiser to settle. then apply a base foundation which matches your skin tone (test it on your jawline rather than your neck or hand. once applied your foundation should be the same tone as your neck, this doesn't mean go for a shade darker than your skin though!) then apply colour wash if you need it as I suggested before.. use green panstick on spots and blemishes to reduce the redness blending it carefull so as not to rub it off and then apply panstick to match your foundation over it blending this just as carefully. if you want you can put another layer of foundation on top but it might feel a bit heavy. Then apply powder over the top of that with a powder brush. Your spots should then be sufficiently covered. Always let your foundation settle before putting on concealer/colourwash etc and then let that settle before applying powder. let me know how you get on with that. |

Since my skin has more or less cleared, I have found that I prefer a minamalist make-up approach and am not a huge fan of foundation, hence the touch of concealer and bronzing powder (i'm only in my early 20's). As everyone raves about minerals I wanted to try them |

| lol! I too am in my early twenties and I don't use foundation either. What are these minerals you talk of? I am a beauty therapist training in makeup artistry and have never heard of them. Maybe the industry has a different name for them?! |

Bare Escentuals, in fact the bloody stuffs getting on my nerves now - I don't look any different or any more flawless!!!
OK I am now proud to say I like MAC and I think I will stick with it
Which makeup brand do you work with? and also what do you use make-up wise every day - i'm just being nosy |
