Hi all,
I'm a bit underweight. Not severely or anything, I'm just right at the cutoff and could gain a few pounds and be at the low end of a healthy weight. I don't starve myself, I just eat normally so I still get pretty good nutrition, I think.
I don't have wrinkles, but my face is a slight bit thin and more angular than I would like. I'm not really fond of the idea of gaining weight, but if being underweight means I am potentially harming my face/skin, then I am willing to consider gaining a bit.
Is this an issue? Will a few pounds even do anything to my face? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks! |

I always look older if I lose too many pounds, my face looks gaunt. I think it's hard to be ultra slim once you're over a certain age as the skin isn't as naturally plump as when you're young.
Personally at the age of 47 I feel so much happier now I don't weight watch and have balanced out at a 10/12 uk size.those extra pounds make my face look great and I'm still wrinkle free thankfully
It all depends on the individual on how a few pounds would affect you.. being slightly underweight I think to try a few pounds wouldn't hurt... you would soon know if you look better in the face if you started getting compliments on how well you look! |

Thanks for sharing, Littlejof!
Yes, I've always heard that age has a lot to do with this topic, but I just wonder what the cutoff age range is (I'm 22). I suppose it varies by individual anyway.
So from what you say even a few pounds can make a difference. In that case, I might gain a few pounds and see how it goes. |

Good for you
being underweight is often harsh on the features but also hard on the body as you need a natural balance to stay healthy. I found out after years of trying to be thin that I naturally balanced out anyway to a lovely size and shape!
At 22 you are lucky enough to carry it off being ultra slim but I still think being more in the mid range for your height would pleasantly surprise you.
So much pressure these days to look thin but trust me, men prefer curves if you're in any way conscious of that...
Good luck and let us know how it goes x |

Haha, yeah most guys do I know. Mine is a weird one, though. But a couple pounds won't hurt anything. |
