Hi I am new here although been having a little look around .

I have recently started my journey in the cosmosutical world ( 6 weeks with ZO) . I am utterly clueless and would very much value any help and feedback regarding the products I am using . I appreciate this is big wide world of products and I want to ensure I am using the best .

About me

Age 33 ( nearly ) , Blonde , blue eyed, very very fair ( in the past I have stupidly forced my skin to tan ) dry skin , freckles , starting to age around my under eye.

I wanted to improve my overall skin tone, reduce my freckles, improve dryness and generally just start taking good care of my skin in the hope to delay the aging process

Currently using

Am
Offects exfoliating cleanser
Daily Power defence
Oxlips sun screen ..... Which I hate

PM
Offects exfoliating cleanser
Brightenex 1%

Currently I am as red as a tomato and flaking . Fairly sore and my skin is tight . I have seen a remarkable improvement in my freckles though yay ! My fore head is being stubborn and a few freckles are trying to stay put .

I guess my question is any advice/feedback on what I am using ? Any other brands I should be aware of ? I don't think financially I will be able to stay with ZO as it is breaking the bank so if anyone knows of good alternatives I would be forever grateful

Thanks in advance & good to finally say HI X X

Hi. What is ZO?

Whatever you are using its not suitable for your skin type. If you can I would return these products and start over
with gentle cleansers, and sun protection for daytime use.

Zo is the new range from Zein Obagi, he has started a new range now he's left the original Obagi company. It's Zo skin health and from what I can tell is like nu derm.

You will get redness and peeling just the same. There is a huge thread on Obagi on here if you do a search, very interesting.

I've done 6 weeks nu derm so in the same on off red n flaky state!

Check out Skin Actives site, loads of good in depth info and excellent prices for the quality on sale... they're just don't waste money on fancy packaging Smile

Keep going on Zo, my doctor friend uses it and her skin has transformed before my eyes... wishing I'd gone that route but had already got the nu derm.

I'll be honest I don't think i can keep going . My skin is horrid and its Christmas and it sucks Sad

Can someone help educate me !! Do I have to go for ret products if I want anti aging ? Or is there an alternative ? I think it's the Retinol that my skin doesn't like Sad

I'm sooooo fed up of spending money on products that don't work .

Has anyone heard for dermaquest ?? I've been looking into them too .

I guess I just want to put my money where it's going to work not on promises that don't work

I think my problem is I don't understand what I am using and why . Well I understand sort of why but I don't understand enough about the products to keep going . I have no go to program and I know nothing about the products or what they will do . It's frustrating me !!!! Nu derm I believe is very similar but don't you have like 7 diff products ?? I've got 4 !!!

Do you know what strength the retinol is? You may need to lower it and build up your tolerance.

I certainly have many bottles for nu but soon got into the routine. I think Zo works the same principles of lightening dark spots, smoothing and repairing and the retinol doing its thing. Check out Tretinoin on Google, loads of info on retinols and how they work.

I'm quite a newbie to all this too but I'm trying to read as much as I can...stick with the program, after seeing my friends results it definitely works.

I started using 1 week ago am 63 years of age. Only used retinal twice and my face is red, peeling and terrible. I feel like all the products are causing the irritation. Maybe send it back, is so expensive. Not sure what to use when not using this. Any ideas?

Welcome!

I've been using ZO for two years! I have no regrets and love the system and theory behind it because I find it to be true.

My first year was difficult but as the first year progressed, you can certainly see the improvement.

I love their sun protection and unfortunately, the thicker cream is the only way to get good protection. It is a bit tacky feel to it so sometimes I use elta SPF 45 but I use Shiseido sensitive skin SPF 50.

I used brightenex also, on daily basis. In fact, when I first started, I used the aggressive approach and that was very hard but worth it.

If money is an issue, go use the ZO Medical (ZOm) cleanser. Use baking soda as a cleanser and alternate between this and ZO.

Daily Power is very strong when you are not used to ZO. I suggest you use it once a week to start for a year and for other days, alternate with the renewal cream during the day.

At night, if your done with bleaching, introduce a new product like retinol. Use it once a week and Brightenex one a week. The product I lyou use Inbetween is the renewal cream.

I think you said you have dry skin. Why not use the wash, scrub and tone method? The toner from ZO is for dry skin.

Have you watched all of ZO videos on YouTube? They are very educational.
