Hello,
I am brand new to your forum. I am a bit confused with my daily regime and hope you can give me some advice. The thing is that I had extensive melasma on my face, basically everywhere, looked like a map.i have been using Obagi nu derm for 6 months and it's been 2 weeks like I'm on maintainance programme. I develop rosacea on my upper cheeks and around my nostrils.it doesn't look too bad and my main concern is my pigmentation. I am really worried as I heard that with sun it may come back.im planning on using copper peptides as well on days I'm not using Obagi..do you think it will be OK to use both obagi 2 times a week(blender with tretinoin and exfoderm) and on other days copper peptides? I don't want to make it worse as I mentioned happy with my results.my skin never looked better.Help!!! |

Hi,
I cannot speak to the copper peptides but am a fellow Obagi user. In my experience, staying on top of sunblock application is the biggest help against returning dark spots. Wear a large hat if you are going to knowingly be out in the sun. Sometimes just a baseball cap helps when at the pool or the beach. I wear sunblock even when it is storming or it snows. I wear sunblock in the car and in the house because of light coming in through the windshield is amplified and then there is light coming through the windows in my house.
If you are red due to the Obagi, I would avoid the Exfoderm, Retin-A, and Blender on those areas for a few days. I have also used Control Corrective Calming Balm to aid in the redness I get from just using the routine. It is a moisturizer but also has an additive that calms down my irate skin. They (doctor's office /esthetician) maybe told you that if things start to turn red and burn, to slow down and allow more time between the active (exfoderm, retin-a, blender, and maybe even the clear) elements of the Obagi program. I hope this helps. |
