I was wondering if anyone has botox, restalyne and is taking MSM supplements.

Twice a year I go for botox and restalyne injections and now I would like to take MSM for my pigmentation however I read somewhere it can dissolve your collagen injections is this also the case for botox and restalyne?

My multivitamin has MSM in it and I have been taking it for years. HAven't noticed any difference but it isn't a HUGE amount.

I have heard this before...actually I heard it last week when right before I was going to get my Botox injections...the dr asked about meds/vitamins I was on. I dont take anything, so I really didn't pay too much attention to it.

Hello All - Here is my experience: I take MSM 4000 mg a day for almost a year - I get botox and it lasts about 4-5 months. No problem... Had an injection last June, one in Nov and just got another one in May. I had botox before MSM and honestly I was having it done more frequently. I don't necessarily think the MSM is helping it last - I just think my muscles are weakening from use. But it sure hasn't detracted from the efficacy of the Botox. So no worries folks.

Can't help with the other because none of those tempoarary fillers lasted either before or after MSM.

Actually MSM taken with vitamin C should enhance collagen in your face and strengthen your facial structure.

I do all three and have noticed no decline at all. My juvaderm is on a year and a half now and is still looking great.

Hi Lou,

Vitacost.com has great prices on quality msm. Be careful because it's not all the same. Another good recommendation and good price on msm is on this site. I may use this next...
msm-msm.com

I take a teaspoon a day in V8 juice. Or else in a green smoothie type thing. I also add glutamine powder and lecithin.

I used to use silica but I'm not sure it was necessary.

Good luck....

Bumping an old thread.
Does anyone who takes MSM also get Botox or filler injections? Anyone noticed more bruising while taking MSM? Anyone noticed their filler not lasting as long?

I have heard this said many times, but the thing is if this is true why is there little to any evidence supporting it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a believer that what we eat has some effect on our bodies and faces but really enhancing collagen and strengthening facial structure is a bit far fetched to me.
