Lip Lines, vitamin c serum?

I've just noticed two vertical lines on my upper lip, non smoker, and looking for advice for treating them. Would vitamin C serum be best?
Anyone have any luck treating these lines?

thanks Very Happy

This might sound silly, but do you drink out of water bottles a lot? Drinking out of straws or water bottles can cause those lines. If you stop, it will get better on it's own.

I’m lucky in that I have been a smoker (no longer) and don’t have these lines. For me, I think a skin remodelling agent like Retin A or CPs might be a better plan of action than Vit C. Just my opinion but for lines, they can also be partly expression caused (i.e. making the same expression over and over). I have a friend who is constantly pursing her lips and she has always done it. In recent years she developed those lip lines and we noticed that when she was round she would constantly make that expression without even realising. I am pretty sure if she didn’t make that expression those lines would go.

Micro needling has shown some very promising results. Mind you, the lip area is sensitive, which is why, I always find it more painful in comparison to the rest of my face.

I've tried dermarolling, Vit C and Retin A none of which worked. I plan to try microneedling there and to get rid of acne scars. You can try having filler injected in your vermilion line. I've done that and it helps.

I never would have thought that. I constantly drink with straws, only way I get enough water in. I will have to stop that so I don't get wrinkles! Thanks for the tip.

I have been told by a plastic surgeon that CO2 laser resurfacing is the best way to reduce or eliminate vertical lip lines. 2nd would be a deep peel (like TCA which I personally would not do at home). Others, but not everyone, have had success with dermarolling, microneedling, and fillers. If the lines are not etched in, but just appear when you move your mouth or pucker, botox in tiny amounts can be effective. I have the same issue. I am going to try dermarolling and if/when I can afford it, CO2 laser resurfacing.

Have you heard about the Lips2kiss regime? I read about it on here and have ordered it. I'm still waiting for it to arrive.
I have asked here, but can't find out if anyone is still using it.

I have had the CO2 laser it didn't work on lines, just made my skin peel, ooze and aggravated my rosacea. My skin stayed pink for around 3 months. I do not ever recommend it! Had to go back and put filler in from the stretching and fat loss that happened. Filler in the vermilion line works the best. I just had a friend do it and it looks awesome.

AnnieR - that sounds scary. Thanks for the warning about the CO2 laser. What filler did you use on the vermilion lines? How long is it supposed to last? I need some!

Really?! That's really scared.
Thanks for the information.
