Hi,
Does anyone know if people working in sephora are professional make up artists. Did anyone get a makeover at sephora in recent past.
I have a very important ocasion to attend and I was wondering if anyone knows a good make up artist that they used in New York. I know that department stores also have make up artists but I don't know of a particular one.
Thanks |

Hi Kpka,- I can't help you out with the New York freelance scene at all, but if you are willing to give the dept store a shot - M.A.C. usually has pretty good artists on-hand...I don't know anything about Sephora staff - but I'm flying to Toronto tomorrow (business, not pleasure) and plan on taking a look a the Canadian store!

on holiday, I've had good service from the victorias secret staff bar 1 who botched up lip liner! I always get the fellas at the MAC counter helping me - maybe they think I need it or I'm in drag |

Thank you girls!
I emailed Sephora and they responded back that I should call and schedule an appointment. They don't call it make overs but rather say that they help you to try out new products. I was once in sephora and one girl got a complete make over by one of the guys and she looked amaizing. May be I should go back to that store and find him |

I go to Sephora whenever I am in Vegas (there are none by my home). Last month, a girl asked I she could help me. For each question I asked, she had to go find out the answer, including "do you think this blush is to orange tinted for my skin tone?"
She may have just been new because the one of the other girls ended up taking over for her and she was very helpful. |

marie,
I had the exact same experience at BOTH sephora stores in vegas...I left pissed off without having purchased anything.
I asked about ingredients and they couldn't tell me and didn't know where to look. |

lianne,
It's very disappointing when you visit somewhere with such a great rep. and are let down!! Customer service is everything in a store such as that.
I find that my experiences at Nordstrom's have always been pleasant one's though , as my charge card can prove.... |

I have a few of those stores too...If they make it fun to shop...I'll buy..usually in mass qty's if the bank account allows me to! |
