Has anyone else tried this? It's a drugstore knock-off of the Susan Lucci Youthful Essence infomercial product.
First of all, my skin is very oily and acne prone, yet sensitive too. I bought this system because it didn't come with a special moisturizer (since I would likely have to chuck it.)
This is basically a facial vibrator  with foam pads that you apply an exfoliating crystal cream to and gently move over your face. Doesn't seem like it's doing much (and for this reason it would be easy to overdo it) but once you rinse off your face, WOW! It makes my skin so smooth, soft and bright. It gives it a nice glow and I feel it helps with pore congestion. Whenever my skin get's that itchy/oily from-the-inside-out feeling, I use this kit. And about once a week otherwise for maintenance.
The crystal cream has a very heavy, rich base and I was afraid it would induce a breakout. But I wash afterwards with my acne cleanser, and so far no cosmetic acne from this product. Of course, that's not to say I don't have the hormonal variety! 
I bought this before I read all the raves about Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant, and now that product is on my list of things to try. But so far I am happy with this system. There are refills available, and a $5 rebate offer on the Neutrogena website. (I got the rebate check yesterday, which sealed the deal for me - I was prompted to finally write a review!)
Amnis, I am using your tip about GSE to disinfect the foam pads after each use!
Not a holy grail, but at this point I am not expecting anything to be!  |

Hi! Definately notice an improvement in my very old acne scars on my forhead after using this product. My overall pores are somewhat improved, but as you said, I'm past expecting miracles.
You definately feel the diference the day you do the treatment, and a bit less so the day afterwards. I've been doing it every other day (junkie, I know!), and using my normal scrub in between.
I haven't found a need to do anything more than rinse thoroughly after use, no need to re-wash. Just put on my matte gel moisturiser from The Body Shoppe--the one with tea tree oil. |
