Hi, since some of you are the "do it yourself" type, I wondered if you had reviewed this website:
http://www.camdengrey.com/
It seems to have materials to make products and the bottles, sprayers, etc. to put them in. Just thought I would pass it along. Joani |

Hi Joani!
Camden Grey is a wonderful supplier of soap and bath & body supplies. Many handcrafted soapers use this vendor including myself. Thanks for posting!

Wow, thanks for showing this site -- it looks great! I would love to be able to make my own all-natural shampoo....I am tempted to place an order.
Do any of you do-it-yourselfers have any other website suppliers to recommend? I really like to use all-natural and organic products. . . and naturally price is also a factor.
Thanks!! |

I would love to make my own organic shampoo for oily/fine/flyaway hair- I think carekate once mentioned a recipe for a peppermint one? Does anyone have any ideas? I have tried many shampoos and cannot find one I love yet-

I've been trying to create some of my own skincare products in order to save some $$, and a great site I've found is fromnaturewithlove.com. They have some exfoliants and hydrosols that Camden Grey doesn't carry, but their oils and such are a bit pricier, so I'd stick with Camden Grey for those.
Some other resources I've found helpful are:
makingcosmetics.com
makeyourowncosmetics.com
aromaweb.com
soapnaturally.org (has some really good stuff in the 'natural skin care' section)
aromaland.com (their oils are pricy, but they have tons of property and blending information for each essential oil)

Thanks for posting your favourite sites.
This one (www.fromnaturewithlove.com) is just so interesting and it's got such cheap stuff. Camellia oil for 4 dollars per 2 ounces. Big bags of Adzuki bean powder for so little. And what an amazing range of clays!!!
I could really get into DIY with these kind of exotic supplies. This could be the start of a revolution for me. |

Hi Molly!
Making handmade skincare products is just as addictive as buying skincare products online! Ask me, I know, he he he. First, I started with soapmaking, then making lip balms, then body butters, sugar/salt scrubs, bath fizzies, body sprays, etc. Addictive and fun! |

Hi Mysty
Damn, sounds like these sites should carry a government health warning.
I was tempted by the DIY anti-aging infopack to dabble, but it all seemed kind of dull, but worthy. This site adds whole new dimension though. I just love the idea of all these ancient, natural materials and at prices like these I can do a Cleopatra, my whole body's going to be renewed.
I think I'd still leave the actives to skincare companies though. Seems a bit dicey to me to get the right percentages etc.

Yes, you have to be careful when purchasing certain chemicals. I usually make homemade items that don't require chemicals/preservatives (ones that don't have water in receipe which breed bacteria) such as lotions. I stick with balms, body butters. |

MistyPines - I would love to hear your recipes for the lip balms and for sugar/salt scrub & Body butters.
I hate using stuff with harsh chemicals, so sometimes I prefer making my own. |

For now I try to stick with Canadian mail order companies because importing over $20 is subject to duties, taxes and surchages, oh my! I've just purchased fromwww.cranberrylane.com, Cranberry Lane Make-it-Yourself Body Care I'll let you all know how I like the products and service.
Here are some of their recipes:

aprilha,
What type of serum are you looking for? A preventative/antioxidant serum? Something anti-wrinkle? Something exfoliating? What is your skintype? How much are you looking to spend?
You could do anything froma simple antioxidant gel treatment to something more high-tech with peptides, etc. |
