I have been using Swell lips (off e-bay) with success, but read about your success with Lip Fusion. I am getting tired of the constant re-applying of the Swell Lips. Which would you say works better? Should I try the Lip Fusion??

To be honest, I never saw any “WOW” results with the Swellips and I simply didn’t/don’t have the dedication to apply and massage for minutes/hours at a time (in the “instructions” that the chick sends you, she says her son’s girlfriend has been “religious” in applying/massaging and her lips are HUGE...well, I’m sorry, but I have a JOB...I can’t sit around all day and massaging honey-goo into my lips, no matter how much I want Angelina’s pout!!!!!!

My advice: try the HA/collagen supplements and get yourself some LipFusion, which only has to be applied twice per day.

Already taking the Source Naturals HA and LOVE them! Have noticed a difference, but was hoping for that "bee stung" look. I guess the $36.00 price tag on the Lip Fusion is what's getting me. So many of the lip plumpers don't work. Does Sephora have a money-back guarantee of any kind?

And yes, I agree with you on the Swell Lips. Too much time needed to see results. Although I did like the results....I just want something as effective that is easier.

OMG Shock Shock Shock Shock I can't believe you even have to ask that! Sephora has the best guarantee of any place I’ve ever shopped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So long as the bottle isn't completely empty, you can take anything back (no matter how many months/years it's been since you bought it) and get a complete refund, no questions asked. I don't like to shop anywhere else because you really can't beat that.

As for the $36 pricetag on the LipFusion, you get *a lot* of gloss in the tube for the price and because
you only need to apply the stuff twice per day for plumping benefits *and* because of its ability to stay on your lips without wearing off, you don't have to keep reapplying it every hour or every time you take a drink from your straw or smoke a cig and nibble a snack.

I said over under the "Anyone tried LipFusion" thread that I'd buy this gloss again and again even if it didn't really plump my lips simply because the gloss's formulation is superior to any other lip gloss I've ever used!! I'd pay $36 just because of the gloss itself...but the fact remains that the plumping technology in LipFusion DOES work so $36 is a bargain, IMO!!

I just wish the company would come out with colored/tinted LipFusion the way that CityLips did (although the CityLips colored glosses were a *joke* in terms of the amount of pigment they had because the color would barely show up on your lips at all).

In my not-so-humble opinion, LipFusion will be the best $36 you ever spent for a lip plumper!!! And if it doesn't work for you? Well, as I said, you can take it straight back to Sephora (even if you lose the receipt!!) and get your $$ back or spend it on some other wonderful and amazing beauty product that you've been lusting for!

To me, the only downside to shopping at Sephora is that when you walk in the door, you instantly spy several, if not dozens, of new beauty products that you didn't even know you wanted but suddenly find that you can't live without....but they're very generous with samples. If there's anything in the store that you'd like to try before you buy, just tell the SA and s/he'll put a dollop of whatever it is into this cool little sample jar for you to take home (I *adore* the little containers they put their samples into...I've even started collecting them for my various homemade lotions/potions and creams!!), so don't be shy about asking...sometimes, if my willpower is particularly strong, I'll make a special trip to Sephora *only* to pick up samples of some new miracle that I desperately need to try!!

P.S. If by "bee-stung" you mean you want those reddened lips like you get from "Lip Venom" (cinnamon oil causes blood to rush to surface of lips, giving the illusion of fuller lips), then you can get that same effect from using the Decleor Aromessence lip balm (which contains cinnamon oil, just like Lip Venom, but without the "bite" -- i.e. burning/stinging sensation) or you can simply make your own homemade "lip venom" by adding 2-3 drops of Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil to your fave (clear) lip gloss or lip balm and mixing well. Do not add any more than 2-3 drops, or you'll learn a new meaning for "burning/stinging"!!!! Also, be careful that you buy the correct cinnamon oil because apparently there is a "cinnamon bark oil" that is completely different. Personally, I like the Decleor lip balm the best if your goal is simply "bee-stung" lips -- it's kinder and gentler than any other that I've tried, and it's actually a pretty good lip balm too (in terms of hydration/moisurizing)...I find myself reaching for the Decleor more and more during the day when I'm not wearing full makeup (although I still swear by my Gatineau Electelle Lip Cream for a super moisturing/hydrating overnight treatment!!).

Thank you so much for all the information! Does the "return policy" at Sephora apply to online purchases as well? I guess I'll go to the site and check it out. I don't have a store near me. I am leaning toward buying it...although my husband may kill me. LOL

Hrm, I'm also thinking that vinegar and salt do the same thing.....or maybe I'm just prone to swelling!!!

I'm still taking the Source Naturals HA containing biocell II collagen. I have tried the lipfusion and ended up returning it to Sephora. It did plump a little, but my husband and children couldn't notice any difference... and I had to ask. So, for me it wasn't worth the $$$. The gloss stays on really well, but I'm not into super shiny lips. When I returned Lipfusion to Sephora's, I ended up exchanging it for City Lips. I used it for several days, but I got impatient wanting to "see" some results so I added Cinnamon and Peppermint to it.... OUCH!!!
So, this week, I recieved my first order of Swellips... much cheaper, and my lips are a bit chapped because of all the "other stuff" I already used on them. Has anyone noticed a "significant" difference with swellips over time? I noticed that my lips are much plumper in the AM after waking up, and as the day progresses, it deflates alittle. I'm trying to put "swellips" on several times a day, even at work during bathroom trips, but it's hard to keep massaging my lips since their a bit raw, and it's also time consuming. What kind of results have you all had with swellips?

The biggest difference I noticed from the Swell Lips is that it has made my top lip much fuller so it is now almost equal to my bottom lip. Before starting Swell Lips, my top lip was beginning to disappear.

I only use the Swell Lips 3 times a day (morning, noon and before bed). My lips pretty much stay plump throughout the day, but I attribute that to the HA/Collagen tablets.

Overall for $10 it has beat everything else I've tried....and it's cost the least.

mom2tommax, How many days/weeks did it take for you to see the most plumping action of your top lip while using Swellips? Also, how long do you massage your lips after application? What exactly do you do? I've been applying it many times during the day, and half the gloss is used up and I've only had it for like 4 days. Also, do you wipe off before applying lipstick? What's your lip regimen... Please share Smile I wanna try the same.

Thanks,
Rita

One time I got too ‘vigorous’ with my massaging, and the little bits of herbs/spices in the Swellips actually ended up cutting my lip! After that, I had to wait 2-3 days until the cut healed because it was too painful to continue massaging (like rubbing salt in a wound!)...that’s about the time that I started to lose interest and enthusiasm for the Swellips! Confused

If this doesn’t convince you to give LipFusion a chance, then I give up!!

Go check out the official website atwww.lipfusion.com for further info about the product (which just received the prestigious “Good Housekeeping Award” for best lip plumper), an entire page featuring some pretty amazing before & after photos, as well as a list of celebs who’re using LipFusion and snippets from all of the beauty/fashion mags who’ve written up LipFusion as the best lip plumper on the market.

P.S. Actually, when I was busy concocting a homemade version of “Lip Venom” (during the early months of my lip plumping exploration), I *did* add a bit of Cayenne pepper to the brew!! Although I must say that it really didn’t cause a reaction that was any different than straight old cinnamon leaf oil. My guess is that Chimera is having a severe allergic reaction to the cayenne (and possibly the salt & vinegar) that causes her lips to swell. I know some people who swell up all over (including their throats, which swell shut!!) from eating peanuts or shellfish...personally, I think that *deliberately* causing yourself to have an allergic reaction like that is too much even for me!! I don’t want ‘pillow lips’ badly enough to risk dying from the pursuit!

BTW, even when your lips plump up nicely from the HA/collagen pills, LipFusion or Swellips, you realize that they’d look even more beautiful if we could only find some magic product that would smooth out the surface of the lips so that the lines are no longer visible, right? Does anyone have any suggestions about what to use? Has anyone ever noticed that in some photographs of Angelina Jolie, her pillow lips are completely smooth and lineless and in other pix, her lips have the same lines on the surface that the rest of us are afflicted with. Yes, I realize that there’s a lot of airbrushing going on in magazine photos, but what about when you see AJ in movies or on TV? Sometimes her lips are smooth and other times they’re lined and I know they can’t airbrush “live” images (although I guess they could shoot through stacked lenses or a layer of cheesecloth or gauze to soften the image – how do you think Michelle Pfieffer and/or Madonna continue to look so flawless in their movies/videos??)....Anyway, I wonder what products and/or lip balm that Angelina uses to keep her million-dollar kisser ready for primetime??? I’d surely love to know....

LOL I am not allergic to cayenne and vinegar! I consume them regularly -- so at least I hope I'm not! I do find the thought of somebody deliberately consuming an allergin to achieve the 'bee stung look' (complete with swollen face and closed off throat) rather amusing in my morbid mind! While we're at it we could always keep bees to sting....hehe.

My lips frequenltly get chapped and I'm always peeling skin off (hope I'm not grossing you guys out) so I'm probably prone to swelling to begin with! I think my answer to perfect lip plumping is to scratch them up and pour salt on them....hehe j/k! Hey that may be a good answer to those fake breast enhancement creams too...'scratch first'

If I'm not mistaken, I think I remember reading on the Swellips 'product info' page on Ebay that the chick who created the Swellips formula actually started using bees to sting her lips when she first became interested in lip plumping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Personally, I think that woman is out of her effing mind...but then again, I freak completely out if a bee or wasp comes within 6 feet of me (I got stung on the eyelid by a red wasp when I was a kid). One time, I actually (lightly) rear-ended a police patrol car that was in front of me at a stop light when I panicked after a bee flew in the open-window of my car!!

OMG that must've been so embarrassing! I know how you feel, I am like that with bees and spiders. The worst is when a spider decides to creep down in front of my face on his little string of silk while I'm driving. Ugh.

Sounds like that swellips girl is INSANE. I can't -imagine- letting a bee sting me - much less on my LIPS! I remember hearing that bee stings were thought to be good for MS patients and thinking how painful it that form of therapy must 'bee'. (sorry, couldn't resist....)

Just be careful to only use 2-3 drops in your bottle of lip gloss, or I can promise you’ll be sorry!!! Less is definitely more with Cinnamon Leaf Oil, and you can always add another drop or two if the “bee-stung” results aren’t satisfactory the first time, but if you add too much straight away you’ll be SOL and have to throw away that lip gloss and start again. Good luck!

BTW, for anyone of you that make your own homemade lip balms or glosses, you could add a couple drops of Cinnamon Leaf Oil to the recipe to create your own version of “Plump Your Pucker” plumping lip balm/gloss.

I just bought the Source Naturals brand of HA with collagen last night and I am excited to see if they work for me. Smile

I have been on a lip plumping rampage for about the last year but have not found anything that really does the trick. The one lip plumper I have found that really does smooth my lips out and I have noticed some minimal results is Modelle Lip Plumper (avail at CVS Pharmacy for about $30U.S. Plus it has a nice vanilla scent to it.

I am going to try Lip Fusion as soon as I can get back to Sephora.

Just to clarify: are you saying that the Modelle helped smooth out the lines on the *surface* of your lips? Wow, I think you might have just given me the answer to my last lip plumping goal!! Methinks I'll be stopping at CVS on the way home this evening.... Very Happy

Yes, since I have been using Modelle I have noticed my lips are a lot smoother without as many "dry" lines in them. It took a little while (probably about 3 weeks or so) for me to notice a difference, but lately I have been applying in the morning sometimes instead of just at night and it seems like they are even smoother and tend to stay that way longer. Modelle also contains HA in the ingredients so I think that helps. The only problem is that I have to let it "soak in" for a little while before I put lip liner or lipstick on.(which would be true of any lip plumper I guess).

Ok now I am totally confused. I have been following all the lip threads for a while. I am 48 and my goal is to hydrate and try and get rid of the lines on my lips. Plumping would be nice but not the primary goal. It seems there is Gatineau, lipfusion, decleor and jurlique and now modelle? Someone help me. I haven't bought anything yet but need some sensible recommendations. Thanks!
