Hello everyone,
Hope you all are doing fine . I hope I don't sound a total dumb-head but I would like to know how exactly does a self-tanner work.
I am not getting this: We put sunscreen to protect our skin and that results in no tanned skin. Now if you use a self-tanner do u put a sunscreen on top of that? *feeling so dumb*
Could someone clear this for me please?
Greetz,

self tanners offer no protection from the sun. I'm not exactly sure how they work, I imagine it's a dye of some sort. You still MUST use sunblock |

I do that all the time, and the sunscreen does not interfere with the selftanner! The selftanner only chemically colours the upper layer of your skin, while the colour caused by UV-rays comes from production of a pigment called melanin deeper down in the skin. |

... so are there any particular guidlines for applying self-tanners on the face?
Is it different than applying to the body?
