Hi everyone,
I want to work on some of my wrinkles but I'm worried about my skin. It's very delicate - I get broken blood vessles easily, it flushes, and it's usually dehydrated and feels tight.
I wanted to try retinol A but I did read some things that concerned me about it. At the moment all I use is a Q10 cream which I find excellent for keeping my skin hydrated.
Can anyone help me? |

Before trying retinol, I would work on the sensitivity and dehydration. Last December and into January my skin was horribly sensitive and dry. Look for products that mention skin barrier repair or, at least, maintenance.
One I used was Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore but there are others.
Once my skin calmed down, I started with very gentle retinoids. I am still using these. One is Skinmedica .25 and the othe is a Bioelements serum Bioactivist or something like that which has retinal along with some other things. My skin is tolerating this which is amazing.
Rather than retinol, you could look at Niacinamide or other ingredients. |

Violetlight, I have skin very similar to yours and I cannot use RetinA. I can use retinols very sparingly.
I do love Vitamin C serums and there are a lot of good ones out there that run the price spectrum.
Skinmedica TNS Essential serum helps, as does Proheal and Hydra cool serums Phyto C.
I love calming Decleor balms and creams this time of year for hydration.
Drier skin shows lines so plump it up! |

I agree. Work on restoring your skin barrier. NIA24 Intensive Recovery is amazing for this. Its my HG moisturizer. |

Thanks Annie and Jamie! This is all great advice. Gonna choose one of those products to start and work on the skin barrier ✌💓 |
