I haven't tried it- have never heard of the avalon brand. people here have had good results with Vivier and Cellex-c vit c serums i think.
Have you tried this product yet? Where did you see it>

I want to add vitamin C for my routine skin care. A friend of mine suggest me try this one. She is using avalon CoQ10 serum and likes it very much. Avalon vitamin C is not a high-end product. I am wondering if it worth a try.

I think it is worth a try- the price of a product doesn't matter. I wonder if it is available in Australia.
The fact that it is not high end shouldn't matter- is more the ingredients. Look for a formula that has around 10% lyscorbic acid, i think. This will be effective, whether expensive or not.

Hope you have some success- I am just looking for a good c serum as of today!!

I recently started using the Avalon Vitamin C toner and serum. I really like the toner (don't know if it's the Vitamin C element, but it's very gentle and soothing. I suspect it's the combo of lavender and aloe in the base), and the serum is good, but I certainly haven't experienced any dramatic results. I'm not as well versed on vitamin C as most of the folks on the board, but I think most recommendations (like maddy said) are to look for a formula with lyscorbic acid, while this serum contains a c-ester. I will probably continue to use the toner, but haven't completely made my mind up yet about the serum. HTH!

Do you know how to purchase La Roche-Posay Vitamin c? It seems I need to buy it from a dermatologist who sells that.

Sarahwang,

I don't know about the US but here in canada, LRP is available in Pharmacies and this major drugstore in Canada.

I tried the avalon vitamin c serum and was really disappointed. I took it back after I realized that it wasn't L-ascorbic acid - it's vitamin c esters. I wanted an L-ascoric acid serum. So I returned it. It wasn't that expensive, but I just wasn't impressed.

I would suggest you go for a serum with l-ascorbic acid and one that is bottled in an amber bottle to protect it from light. Also, my general rule is that I do not trust any vit C serum that does not tell me the concentration of vit C in it.
