Whitening Cream for Stretch Marks

I have really bad stretch marks on my arms--its to the point where I cannot wear anything sleeveless like tube tops. It was due to a growth spurt when I was around 9 or 10. My arms is the only area where my stretch marks are extremely bad. And I start to get depressed around summer time because I cannot wear any cute tops. I have a great figure but it is completely ruined by the marks. I can show everything else like stomach and legs..

well for many years i've searched and searched the internet and called doctor's offices to see if there was any treatment for stretch marks and failed. there is no real solution. i've always thought that maybe a whitening cream could possible lighten my skin up a few shades to blend them in. because the stretch marks are lighter than the surrounding area. do you all think fair and flawless could do that? any opinions? i want to know before I spend my money. any info would be greatly appreciated

That's a good question! I have some that are really faded and light too, but never thought about lightening the skin around them. Hope someone has some information on this.

Try using self tanner, it will darken the stretch marks and your skin to the same shade.

Mogwai-I've been thinking that whitening my arms could possibly work to signigicantly reduce the appearance of my stretch marks for years. My dad suggested it to me. The problem was that I could never find a cream strong enough to work on the body--until I came across Fair and Flawless on this thread. I called and spoke to one of their representatives and she recommended a cream that would work. I'm very cautious because a lot of these companies just want your money and will tell you anything just to get you to buy. I was hoping somebody, somewhere might have tried whitening creams and got hopeful results. That is the only thing that I can think of that will give me, or anyone a real solution to stretch marks. If you cannot get them to go away--heck why not lighten your skin to the point where they're not visible?

chimera--I am an African Am. woman who is of dark brown complexion. a self tanner would not be the answer for me. I work in retail and have gone through the skin care aisles applying several different self tanners (lotions) onto my skin and didn't even SEE the color rub onto my skin. LOL It might work better for Caucasions or of someone who is of a light complexion. I even thought about going to a tanning bed for the summer to get so tan to the point my stretch marks wouldn't even be visible. I called tanning salons and the people who work at these places reply immediately saying it wouldn't work. Although I think it might. Personally, I hate my stretch marks on my arms so bad I wouldn't mind getting unnaturally jet black just to wear a tube top; if such a thing did work.

Stretch marks are just terrible. You'd think something as simple as a few lines across your body would be easy to erase. Not. I even tried makeup Dermablend, and some expensive ERA foundation. Makeup one the body is messy--and does little to improve the appearance of stretch marks. It rubs off (something Dermablend and ERA claims they don't do) and it clogs up the drains when you decide to wash it off your body in the tub. And don't sweat because the makeup will start to dissolve and look really weird. It works better for people who want to cover up birthmarks, and uneven skin tone. And those who have minimal stretch marks. The marks on my arms are so bad I have to put on A LOT and I just hate doing that.

I was expecting more feedback:( Someone out there has got to know whether or not whitening my arms will work. This has been a very depressing problem for me so any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure about how good skin whitening products are although they claim great results.
I know you said you don't like to put makeup over the marks, but a shimmer cream can work wonders- the paricles reflect light and cover a multitude of imperfections as they draw the eye away. There are heaps of good ones around- I like Palmer's cocoa butter one, there are also some more upmarket ones that I like. I would recommend trying this- it would give an instant result too.

Good luck. I am sure you will get heaps more good advice from the girls on here over the next couple of days.

Bio-oil is supposed to have really good results. Its supposedly the best scar treatment that doesn't require a prescription post surgery or for the odd scar. Its really reasonably priced $30 New Zealand so probably about $15 US and its available at any chemist. Smile

I've used bio-oil, I don't know if it works on scars, i suposed it does but slowly, I use it for dry skin patches, in the bath good all rounder, I'd recomend it lasts for ages.

StriVectin has bearberry and other plant extract ingredients found in lightening creams. It helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks but should be used 3 times a day religiously. There are many copycat versions that have the same ingredients at half the price - I saw one at vitamin world(health supplement stores in the malls in US). The texture and scent was the same as StriVectin.

BrownEyes, the company you mentioned is overpriced and uses shady promotional tactics on forums to solicit buyers!!

And I was hoping this company was legit. They were my last resource for trying to get rid of my stretch marks.

There was one person who claimed the product worked...where is he or she?
