Hello! I was wondering if anyone has had any success with pore scarring? I have a pore that I'm assuming is scarred as it stays indented/enlarged all of the time (it's very small though). I had previously had a FCO2 laser treatment on the spot and it improved slightly, but I'd like it gone completely. I'm thinking about possibly trying mandelic and/or salicylic acid? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you :'-)

Do you mean pitted scars?

Unfortunately, just applying AHA won't do any thing to improve them

Flaxel laser 10 years ago promoted that it could fix them or improve them, it's a form of nonablative laser. I don't believe it was such a success though.

I read on this or another forum about needling or piercing and follow by acid, directly into the pitted scars, forcing them to swell and repair but very locally. I asked a beauty therapist for advice and she said the results are not permanent.

Because they are so localised, it's not worth damaging the surrounding skin to treat a couple of dots.

Sorry I couldn't provide any worthwhile, albeit permanent solutions.

I think a little more information would be useful: What type of acne did you suffer from? What type of regimen did you use (and for how long now?) etc.

While these may be icepick-like scars, have you considered the option that your pores have got quite wide/large and may be clogged (while not directly visible)? Even after your pores are 'unclogged' it can take quite some effort and time before they resize to normal (invisible) again.

You may want to consider the TCA/toothpick method.

You may want to search on the pubmed website for several other studies on this subject.

I would stay away from all lasers. I had a co2 fractional 4 months ago and it left me with scarred pores literally all over every inch of my face. My new doctor is fixing it with tca peels.
