Is it okay to use oil as a day moisturizer, on top of it add sunscreen? My mom always told me that oil + sun is bad and it'll burn my skin, make it age faster, is it true? |

It depends really which oil you are talking about. Back in the 60's we all used to put oil on ourselves and go out and sunbath in the sun and that was before we really new about UVA and UVB damage that can occur. I think Joan Collins spoke about it back then and so we all did it as a result.
However not all oils are the same, so you can if you wanted to use an oil over the sunscreen - it really depends on your skin type and needs. For many people oil makes them shiney and so its not a good look to have during the day and to some degree the sun screen will prevent the oil from absorbing.

Yes, applying oil is ok. Whether it's beneficial for you will depend on your skin condition and skin type AND of course, what oil(s) you are putting on.
The moisturizers you currently use most like already have oil in it (as most moisturizers on the market are NOT oil-free).
Just remember everything in moderation and mixing your routine up a little is great for the skin too! |

Good oils moisturize the skin, protect the skin, block ultraviolet rays, and choose the right oils for you, day or night. |
