Hi guys,
I'm hoping I can get some insight into a backlash I've gotten from doing Tanaka. I began doing Tanaka again after a long absence and after my face gaining some plumpness and after 3 days of doing the exercise once a day, today I come to realise I've developed mid cheek lines which weren't there a week ago, I've pointed out the region with a line in the attached picture.
The line irl is more subtle than the line I've drawn, I've just drawn it to display the region it is.
Now I know my age can be a factor as I'm approaching 37 but the line has appeared with me coinciding with beginning the tanaka on my face after a long absence and after my face having bloated with weight.
Can anyone give me more insight into whether this is directly linked to Tanaka? Am I applying too much force and if so will this go away? Should I stop the Tanaka?
Thanks in advance for any feedback guys.. |

Are you using oil or a moisturiser when you do Tanaka? From memory you are supposed to, which helps the movements glide moreso. I can see the line you speak of and it may be that you are using too much force there, and so I'd ease up for the time being and go much gentler and see if it improves over the next couple of days. It may be because you had a break, your body is just getting back into the swing of it, and combined with heavy pressure, its too much at this moment in time right now. |

Thank you for the reply Theresa. Yes I use coconut oil when doing the massage.
I hope it's a combination of my face being extra plump and me using excessive force which has caused this, which I did, but I don't know...this hasn't happened before...
I will take your advice anyway thanks. |
