Will accutane help my oiliness? I have zero acne, but my face gets really oily only a few hours after washing. I'm willing to go on it (if my parents let me, of course) if it is known to permanently reduce oiliness.
About Vitamin B5-I hear this helps reduce oiliness. Any opinions?
Also, where can I purchase Vitamin B5? Can you guys recommend some specific brands/websites? Lastly, how much of Vitamin B5 do I need to take per day?
I've heard that liver flushes will help reduce the oiliness of your skin as well-is it true?. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, what is it exactly?
Thanks everyone. |

Hi Binary Star
I am a physician but not a dermatologist. Personally if you do not have acne I would not take accutane. It can be a very toxic drug with lots of side effects including depression and suicide. I had a friend with bad acne use it and she had lots of side effects. Sorry I can't answer the other questions. |

Thanks Gaby. After talking to some other people, I have decided not to take accutane. I only asked because I didn't know much about it. It doesn't seem like it's worth it now. |

Ack. After thinking about this more, I am more willing to take accutane. I'm going to talk to my derm first obviously, but if it can permanently help my oiliness and reduce my pores, it definitely seems worth it. |

I've never heard that Accutane can help stop overactive oil glands on the face before. If you try it, please keep us posted on your results!! For now, I'm sticking with my beloved Ylang Ylang oil to help regulate my face's oil production.... |
