Without wishing to start a flaming war....

I think they would look ridiculous with capris or short skirts! They're also so "last season", I personally think they look stupid anyway. Why do you want a pair? Because the likes of Paris Hilton has them? She's continually in my magazine as having no dress sense and no idea!

Also are you talking about the real fur ones? If so do you know how many rabbits die for one pair of those boots? They use Rex rabbits as the fur is like velvet, they breed them especially for the fur, then when the time has come they stick a probe in their mouth and rectum and electrocute them. This is a slow and painful process and doesn't always kill the rabbit but that makes no difference as they are then skinned, dead or alive. You really want to wear something that's just for "fashion" but had up to 30 rabbits killed for one pair????

Hmmm, I'm not so sure you'd be able to pull it off with skirts in summer without looking silly. Well, that's my two cents anyway. I would also go for the fake fur ones. First is the animal issue, second is the spending of LOTS of $$$ on something that seems to be a bit fad-like and will be out of fashion pretty quickly.

I'm a BOOT FREAK! My Favourite *fashion* boot is an electric purple pair of Fluevogs - they are beeeeautiful!! The boots that I love more than any others - that I wear *almost all the time* for work, for play, or whatever - are my Blundstones - IMHO, Blundstones are the Cellcosmet of the bootworld!!! (except better!) I would not be without them. If you don't have a pair - get a pair - they are *the* (IMHO) most comfortable, durable, fabulous boots EVER! And I think they are *sexy* as hell to boot! (pardon the pun!)..You can wear them with bossy black slacks, jeans, skirts, shorts - anything! They are the best!

I wouldn't worry too much about "useful" - just wear what you love! As long as the stuff doesn't "wear you" I say go for it! ....I just got lucky finding the Blundstones both extremely comfortable and durable *and* IMHO, totally funky and sexy! I'm sure that someone else will post and say, "what? those old sh*t kicking boots?!"....but I just LOVE them! I wear them in the summer with shorts too! Laughing

I *love* boots from the Camper Twins range. In fact, I am addicted to pretty much the entire Camper Twins concept and seem to have a nice collection going (some of which I have never worn because the shoes just look too nice! Embarassed ). All of the Campers are super comfy and great quality shoes.

Just for the record, last summer I saw a photo of Britney Spears wearing a pair of Mukluk boots with her tiny/tacky denim cutoffs, and I laughed so hard that I nearly peed my pants! I don’t think Mukluks are a look that should be worn with summer fashions unless you don’t mind being laughed out or having your photograph end up in the “Don’t” column of a fashion magazine! Save them for winter.

Wow....i can't believe how many people don't like mukluks...in canada, in vancouver it is actually in style-and vancouver is like the hollywood of Canada. To be honest i actually don't think they look that bad for the summer with a jean skirt. The choice right now is either the boxing boot by adidas or this gray mukluk. Also i actually have always liked mukluk's because they are linked to native american culture and i always thought they were very cultural and stylish. But i wanted to get something authentic that is not like a sneaker because i already have sneakers. I feel like the adidas boxing boot is like that. i think other boots are just way too plain. I guess when i come back to Connecticut wearing mukluk for the summer i will be the laughing stock of the town.

Well, I might have to eat my words! There was a photo of Jessica Simpson in the current Spring issue of People magazine “Stylewatch” showing her in a pair of bluejean cutoffs and her Mukluk boots – they called it “channeling her inner ‘Daisy Duke,’” so maybe sherpa boots in the summer time is an okay look afterall...I don’t know if *I* would try it, but hey – if you’ve got the chutzpah to pull it off, go for it!
