Hello everyone. I have been on the skin care forum before, just coming back, after renovations.  I am having acne cysts breaking out on my chin,(probably from stress)!  They are very swollen, red, and painful. Does anyone know how to get the swelling down, redness, etc? I have been suffering from this for a couple weeks now, been on an antibiotic, (internal, and topical), and now on another internal antibiotic. I had two to start on the right side, now I've got one on the very bottom of my chin, which hurts a lot! Please help! Anyone!?  |

One thing you can do at home is to ice them. Other than that, you might want to see a derm and let him zap them away with a shot. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hi Carolynd-
If antibiotics have been prescribed, I am not sure that a topical ointment or anything would help much. Ice will cool the swelling, but there are also creams designed to take away the redness etc. YonKa makes one that is supposed to be good- it was reviewed awhile ago by chunlisa but I can;t remember what it is called. YonKa Juvenil gets rid of pimples well too, but the other one I am thinking of takes away the red soreness. You could try both?
The skincare forum might get you more replies to this thread too.

| Hi.....I am not sure if you have heard of Skin Biology but they have a cream called super cop that zapped my cysts right away.....they were gone in one week!!! Just use a TINY bit right on the cyst....and It will go down over night. |

It sounds hormonal to me - I have had anti biotics in the past and they completely mess up your system. They work initially but cause a lot of problems in the long run.  |

Hi everyone, thank you for your responses. I sure appreciate it, and will check out the ideas! Suffering from acne is a horrible experience, I sure wouldn't wish on anyone...  Thanks again. If anyone else has any ideas for cystic acne, please, feel free to get back to me, too..  |

I get the same kind of breakouts when I'm stressed and the only thing that really works for me is the Proactive system. I swear by it. I never got acne when I was younger but started getting it in my 30's and freaked out. I love it! They also make a skin lightning lotion that helps if you got acne scars from your breakouts, which I did. Love it, love it, love it!
