I received a sample of the B5 Gel with my order recently.
What I find strange is that the Gel doesn't seem to do any hydrating at all. It just dries on my skin like my CE Serum and I haven't seen any benefits like moisturised/dewy skin.
Does anybody else have this experience? Or is it supposed to work "silently" and I won't see any results until maybe 3 or 4 weeks later? |

The main ingredient in B5 is hyaluronic acid. I find that hyaluronic acid does a nice job of locking moisture into my skin. Yes, it does absorb quickly. Your face will not feel like you have applied a moistuizer but your should notice that fine lines and wrinkles plump up.
My only problem with the Celex C B5 is that it is over priced. You can get hylaluronic acid much cheaper from other skin care companies.

I've been curious and wondering whether to get this or not, since it is recommended. I justed started using some of the Skinceuticals line (i.e. Cleansing Cream, CE Ferulic Serum, and Eye Cream) and love the results I'm beginning to see. |

Sorry, I read your post wrong. I see now you were talking about Skinceuticals. |

I notice it's made my moisturizer more moisturizing. My skin seems more hydrated and the little lines plumped up! |

Hmmm ... Maybe I'm not giving it enough time to see results. I just read from the Cellex-C description of their B5 Gel that in the beginning it would absorb very quickly, and that it works underneath the surface of the skin so that no moisturising effects would show on the skin surface.
Guess I'll order a bottle and give it a second chance. |

I use the SC Hydrating B5 Gel too. I have oily, acne prone skin, and use this as my only moisturizer. I just put it on after the Vitamin C Serum, and slap on an SPF 30 and I am ready to go! |

Hi MystyPines,
I, too, have oily, acne prone skin, but my skin tends towards dehydration. If I slap on my sunscreen after the Gel, then it is sufficient because my sunscreen is quite heavy! |

Hyaluronic acid is a wonderful humectant. If you don't have available moisture in top skin cells to pull down deeper into other skin layers, the top layer will end up looking a bit dehydrated. I have read that it is best to moisturize before using HA so that your moisturizer is pulled deeper into your skin. BUT have also read that you should top off HA with moisturizer, too. Personally, I like topping it off better than the other way round. But, I don't have dry skin either. |
