2 years ago at age 49 I used the system with great results then maintenance but fell off the wagon for fear on being on it for to long. I have started up again with my derm has anyone been on the program then maintenance for a long period of time and if so what are your results and thoughts. Iam correcting sun damage and tone. Thank you |

Hi Red Head,
I've been using Nuderm for almost a year. I did 28 weeks of the full regime and am now on maintenance. I'll be doing my second round in April -- as recommended.
I think it's great that you're having another go! When you stopped altogether, did the issues with sun damage return? I don't see any reason why you won't have success again. And this time, you'll know what you're getting into! Good luck and keep us posted! |

I think I am on my 4th round. You won't peel as much as the first time, and not that red for the first 2 weeks. |

Hi Critic,
Are you doing the Obagi Nuderm regime for the 4th yearly cycle? |

I'm planning on doing six weeks for my second time around. I'll see how things are going at that point and I'll do another cycle if I feel that it's needed.
Those of you on Round 2, please let us know how it's going! |

I have used OBAGI on/off for 10+ years. The first time used it for a year, then switched to another brand due to pregnancy & breast feeding. Probably re-stared OBAGI after 2 years, again on daily basis for few months, then change to another brand because of 2nd pregnancy and re-start etc. |

If you all have stuck with maintenance, the more times you do it, the less reactions you will have. I said this somewhere else, but the more times I have done the yearly treatments, the more my spots have not returned. |

You can use zinc oxide on your face (diaper rash cream) to help with the discomfort if you are having burning, etc. You may be purging with the breakouts. I would check with your derm to be on the safe side. |

I think maintenance is just as important as the initial treatment as I saw my skin to continue to get better, but it is so easy to slack off when your skin looks better.I am on my yearly round now and its now near as bad as the first row. |

Sorry to hear about your face, but the only thing that helped me was the zinc oxide like Riley said.
To answer your other question,I use the cleanser and toner while on nuderm and after I use Rhassoul cleaning bar by NCN (Nanic). I think it is important to use them while on the program because they work together. |

I was just thinking about whether or not I needed to get the Nuderm cleanser/toner when I start Round 2 in April. It just makes sense to use all of the products exactly as before. However, I wasn't planning on purchasing the Sun Fader or the Nuderm sunscreen. Do you think that will be ok? |

It really is best to use the Cleanser and Toner (or replace with the C-RX cleanser that doesn't need a toner with it) when doing the system - especially in the first 6 weeks.
Any sunscreen is fine as long as it truly protects you. |

Thanks, Rileygirl. I think I will get the C-rx. I've used it before and really liked it. Two birds with one stone... works for me! |

Blueeyes, the recommended time is a whole cycle once a year (18 weeks). Some people with good skin can get away with a shorter "course". |

So for 4 1/2 months out of the year I'm supposed to have super dry, flaking skin and looking like a tomato....? don't think so
I'll try to be good on the maintenance instead... and do a full on week here and there I think... and see how it goes |

LOL. I definitely don't blame you, which is why most people do a 6 week cycle once a year. That is a little more manageable! |

hi Critic there is a question for you...please
U said while u become pregnant,,u switched to anotehr brand from obagi ? what was that brtand"s name...? what was it for..? was it for the same reasons as obagi nuderm ? is it as effective as obagi nuderm ? is it also for blotchiness and pigmentation ?
I really wan t to know since my plan is to try to get pregnant once i have compketed the 24 week cycle and i really really really dont want to lose all the good results i have achieved with obagi nuderm...
Thanks ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

rileygirl, can Retin A be replaced with something else? I don't want to use a 0.05% Retin A every day (and shed my skin like a snake) ![Confused](images/smiles/confused.gif) |
