I got a small bottle of this for free with my last EDS order. I wanted to get the Cellularskin one (sounds good) but thought this would do.
It gave me a nasty stinging sensation for some time after application and the next day I was a bit red. After I applied all my day stuff my face burnt like hell and I had to wash it all off again and cut a leaf off my Aloe Vera plant, then spent the night doused in Emu oil. My skin's ok today.
I've used mild glycolic products before and I usually get good results from them with no sensitivity issues. So I wouldn't recommend this. Anyone had any positive results? |

Um... I don't think I've tried this one - I'm not sure actually I do have a full size of the Bio-glycoli Bioclear lotion and have not had any problems with that one.
I wonder what the % of AHAs is in the Bioglycolic Facial Lotion... as compared to the Bio-glycoli Bioclear....? |

I got a sample of Bioglycolic Facial Lotion from EDS, but I haven’t been brave enough to use it all over my face...I was just dabbing a bit on a red spot here or there. Now it sounds like I never will muster the courage to use it all over!! |

I use this on my face and this is a very strong medication 12% AHA 2% BHA 2% Azelex. This is for oily skin types and you do need to buffer with either their c-esta serum or I use camellia oil (any one of your choice will do). This requires very little amount for the face. A bottle should last 3 - 4 months. Even with buffering it will sting a little but soon subsides. This is the only thing along with my retin a that has gotten rid of those stubborn acne spot scars and those pesky, stubborn black heads on my nose. And I have tried every thing, peels and all, other than microdermabrasion. |

Terihe, thanks for the information. I can't imagine why Jan Marini don't warn the users, checked their website doesn't tell me anything much. Can't believe this is for twice daily use. I might venture a tiny bit over a buffer on a bit of hyperpigmentation though seeing as you feel it's so effective. I suppose a bit of pain would be worth it. |

Hi, I use the Bioglycolic Facial Lotion and the Bioclear. I have very strong skin. I could soak in liquid Retin-A
I agree, Molly, Marini should warn users as to the strength of their products, but to be fair, the products on EDS can only be purchased after a consultation. This is true of every site that I know of that sells Marini products. Joani |

I just order the Bioglycolic Eye Cream from EDS as it has something in it for fat deposits under the eyes. Nothing was said about having a consultation first (I didn't see it anyway). I have not received it yet but will be very careful. Does anyone know if it is as strong as the face lotion? ![Anxious](images/smiles/eusa_shifty.gif) |

Hi,
This is from the EDS site:
Jan Marini Skin Research products are designed to be used under the supervision of a licensed skin care professional. Prior to purchasing these products for the first time from our site please call for a consultation with our Aesthetician at 1-888-2956802.
I guess it is not mandatory, but I do think they want users to know about their products, including how strong some of them are.
I doubt the eye cream will be as strong as the facial lotion. I'm using the C-ESTA Eye Repair Concentrate and it is very gentle and light. Let me know about the eye cream you ordered. joani |

Thanks. I went back to the site and there it was in RED. Guess I was too concerned about something for those fat deposits and didn't read the bold print. ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

I too have skin thicker than rhino-hide and yet the Bioclear BURNED my face. I had a large pimple on my forehead last winter and dabbed a pea-sized amount on it, went to sleep, woke up and had a quarter sized rash/burn. I had the mark from it till the following fall ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

Okay, I have a stupid question: if you’re supposed to have a professional consultation before begin using the JM products, than how come EDS sent me a sample of the Bioglycolic Facial Lotion??? Which, I might point out, didn’t have any instructions for use on the packaging!! That’s mostly why I was afraid to use it all over my face, because it didn’t have any directions.... |

Yes Carekate I agree. I find it strange. I was ordering a sunscreen so I would hardly think that I'd need a professional consultation. And then the Bioglycolic was a free gift at the top of the sunscreens page without any warning. Even after that, if you read the glycolic product info on EDS (and the JM website) it doesn't warn you at all. EDS seem to have removed the free offer now. I wonder why? |

I note on EDS some of the JM products have RX next to them. The eye cream I purchased doesn't have RX next to it. I was so hopeful when I saw it addresses fat deposits Now, I am afraid to use it.
If anyone has used the eye cream I would appreciate any reviews.
Perhaps CaspersMum or Magda will help us with some of our concerns.
Thanks,
Winnie |

If you used a pea sized amount on one small zit, I can see why it burnt your face. That is a lot of product for that small little area. I use a pea size on half of my face. You have to be careful with the amount you use. One of those 1 oz bottles is supposed to last at least 3 months. |

Got my JM eye cream (for my bags) today. Unbelievable fast delivery from EDS! I put a tiny amount around my eyes. It slightly stings. I think I will use it every other day for the first week and only one time (not two). If all goes well I will go to a daily routine and stay at one time a day. Will keep you updated.

Hi Winnie, yes please let us know if there's any improvement. I'm just about to order this too. I've emailed JM and asked them some questions about it; how strong, useage and how long before there are visible effects. I'm wondering if this lypolytic effect is theoretical or real actually as I don't see any evidence.
I'm trying the bioglycolic face lotion again, tentatively, on rugged parts of my skin. I only used it sparingly the first time, but maybe it needs to be even more sparing. Tried my legs last night with no bad effects. And I was wondering if the burning might have been because I didn't shake the bottle properly - it says very clearly 'shake thoroughly before use'. |

Good luck Molly Guess we are experimenting together. My eye area feels a tad sensitive tonight but it is not red or anything. Spoke to my boss and he told me I needed to be very careful with glycolics around my eye area. When I heard JM helps fat deposits I just have to give it a try. |

I posted yesterday and it was supposed to be for Agave and not Carekate. I don't know what happened with that. Just needed to make it right. |

Pleased to report that after using the JM eye cream I had NO reaction at all. I will continue using it every other day for the first week to ease myself into it. Must say it has quite a bite when you first apply it. So little is needed of this product. Hope it helps my BAGS. ![Pray](images/smiles/eusa_pray.gif) |

Not ouch at all.
I think I gave this product a bad wrap so I've come back.
I've run out of every other exfoliant so I was left to try this one again and at first I did it tentatively with buffering and now neat, but actually it's not that harsh at all. I'm only using it once a week, because I'm scared of exfoliation and sunshine, but it's not bad.
I prefer other exfoliants I've used because they seemed more moisturising, but for oily people it would be very good.
My BIG mistake was not SHAKING the contents, which is does say on the bottle. Forget to do that and it'll kick you.
OK, it's safe to get it out of the cupboard. M |

The facial lotion is too too strong...BUT the eye cream is OK...as least for me. I used it for several days, and I think it is pretty good...but not long enough to see and effects |

I don't think the concentration of AHA is that high in this facail lotion, but I can't understand why the feeling is so strong. I have tried MAMA lotion before, which has 20% AHA, and I did not have any stinging feeling... ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiles/rolleyes.gif) |
