Hello,
I have a lot of issues going on as far as acne goes, but I was wondering what I could try for the exisiting blemishes that are not quite ready yet to be extracted, they are red and raised. What could I use to make the inflamation go away and make the spot heal and go away?
I noticed I have a lot of whiteheads and bumps on my forehead and chin. Anyone had luck getting rid of those somehow?
I would REALLY appreciate your advice!
THANKS!
Aga |

My doctor prescribed me a topical antibiotic called Clindatech Solution that has done wonders for my skin. It's made by an Australian company though so I'm not sure if you can buy it in the USA. To be honest I'm not even sure what's in it but I have sensitive skin and it hasn't irritated it like benzol peroxide or salycilic acid tends to. I've been using it for about a week now and all the lumps on my chin are gone. I still have the little red marks as my skin scars easily but I'm sure they'll fade in time. One thing you can buy off EDS that alot of people recommend is Dermalogica's medicated clearing gel, it has really good reviews. Good luck! ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

Tea Tree Oil is good for the blemishes and for putting on just as you get that feeling you're getting a spot. Payot Pate Grise (which I think is available in the States) is fab at getting rid of spots quickly. Apply a small amount at night and in the morning the spot zapped. |

Hi Aga,
I have the same problem with those types of spots, mine often looked raised and angry, I have however found the following products useful ....
Zindaclin (Clindamycin Phosphate) This is an antibiotic gel prescribed by my doctors and like princesita said it isnt harsh, you are meant to put it direct onto the skin but what I do is put my night moisturiser on and then apply the gel on my problem areas, and so far it works as spots which look like they are going to progress to be red and angry actually fade and it calms existing ones into a fade. I havent been using it long but I seen a difference after one application !
Also, Clinique do a night time spot treatment and surprisingly (Even though I dont get on with Clinique products generally), this does help to calm them down.
Clinique also do a special medicated concealer and whenever I put this on a red spot by the end of the day the spot is always ready for extraction !
Guerlain do a product called Creme Camphrea which is a tinted treatment I have at times found this to be really good at calming spots, especially at night -and even better is covers them up without being a make up !
Good luck Aga, it is so difficult and I have tried so many topical treatment but out of all of these above the antibiotic treatment is certainly the best.
Many thanks Rach ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

Thanks for all the great suggestions girls!
I have put it all down and I am going to try your recomendations!
The clindamycin sounds nice esp that it doesnt irritate the skin more Ill try to get a hold of that somehow!
Thanks again!!!

Hi Aga,
Your doctor should be able to prescribed you an equivilaent Zindaclin. Basically it is a topical antibiotic (1%)and it really has worked for me !
Also in magazines over here Cameron Diaz always talks about Sonya Dakar products working wonders on her acne prone skin and Britney Spears has commented the same. We cant get Sonya Dakar over here but have you ever looked into these products supposedly they do a really good spot lotion, but i have never tried it so not sure.....
If you need any more info on the Zindaclin then let me know ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Hi Aga, have you tried the aspirin mask? The recipe has just been posted in the DIY thread. It's worth a try and all you really need is aspirin and water. Annette |

Hiya, Aga!
I'm late to reply, but I find using products with Beonzoyl Peroxide really help to banish the blemishes. Clean and Clear Continuous cleanser has 10% BP in it. You can also use Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask which has 2.5% Benxoyl Peroxide. I like to use it has a mask. Dermalogica makes a great Blemish Treatment product with Benozyl Peroxide. It's in a little white bottle and it works well to dry up acne and clear up the skin.
If you are sensitive to benzoyl peroxide(like my sister--her face turns red and swells up when she uses products with it), you can try the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask or Astara Blue Flame Mask--both are strong and dry up zits. Kiehl's makes a great astringent--Blue Astringent I think it's called that dries that works well, too. Also, as Lolli mentiones, Diane's magnificent Aspirin Mask has been wonderful to many of us a.f.ers, MUAers, and more who have become devoted users of it!
Good luck and hope this helps! ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

My $.02
I get very few blemishes, but since I started using tretinoin(generic retin-a) whenever I notice one forming, if I put this on several times a day, they just dry up without ever getting ugly. Also, I had one monster one above my lip anyway it was one of those that normally take about a week to resolve and then leave a scar. Starting dabbing the stuff on and it was gone in 3 days without a trace! |

I keep using juvenil from yonka. I'm also trying the drying lotion from Mario Badescu - that seems pretty good at clearing them. |
