How much water do you drink daily?

How important do you believe it is for your skin to drink lots of water?

I sure struggle in this area. I go in spurts--some days I can drink tons and others barely a drop! Embarassed I do, however take my supplements every day.

How do you get all your water in?

Thanks in advance Smile

I drink 2L a day, plus about 4 glasses. I make sure I drink a full glass 2 times a day when I take my supplements, and I buy a 2L bottle everyday as soon as I get to work. I drink it all day just because it is infront of me. I usually finish it mid afternoon, so I add more and drink it till I go home.

I do believe it is important for your skin, as well as every other bodily function.

When I first started this I do remember it was a struggle, but now I am shocked that I never used to drink water. (I used to drink 2L of diet coke a day Shock ) The more you drink, the more you realize how important it is Very Happy I am totally addicted to water now!

I agree with Faith - I never used to drink water, only fizzy drinks and cups of tea, it was really hard trying to drink water at first but now I drink loads of the stuff, I never count.
I have a pint of water when I get up in the morning and then drink pints throughout the day, I also love my herbal teas (you need something warm with our cold British weather) especially peppermint. It makes me feel sick now if I have a cup of tea or coffee. You also don't get as hungry during the day when you have water at hand all the time. Very Happy

I'll drink about 2 litres of plain water each day, can't say I really like it but I 'cheat' by mixing water with pure juices or 'supermaket' type juices. They usually turn out to be diluted, but its ok for me.

I also drink lots of caffeine drinks like teas and coffee, which are direutic (did I spell it right?) - so in effect, I'll have to drink more water to compensate. But I actually think that caffeinated drinks are good for you, if in moderation, so there.

Oh yes, reduce your water intake in the evenings to prevent water retention or puffy looking eyes the next morning, eh?

Hello there Very Happy Totally agree with the others on this one. The trick is keeping the water handy, in a bottle, right in front of you. I've never been a fan of water myself (don't know whether I just didn't like it or was too lazy to get up from my desk and go all the way to the water cooler at work Laughing ) but now that I've made it more accessable I drink it without even thinking and my skin is definately better for it.

I have trouble drinking just plain water so I cheat a little bit and put just a tiny amount of fruit syrup in my water bottle or put in some manuka honey and lemon juice (both are good for skin). And then of course I try to keep that bottle around all the time so I don't forget to drink it. Also, I don't really like drinking cold water so I tend to drink it luke warm (yeah, I know, I'm weird....).

Laughing Yay, another person who doesn't like cold water!! Everyone thinks I'm weird because I get water out of the cooler at work and then leave the bottle sitting on my desk until it heats up to room temperature!! A little lime juice is really nice mixed with water too, very refreshing.

Room temperature is good, water warmed to your body temperature is even better. It's been proven that drinking warm water is better for your body and your skin because your skin and organs are stimulated by cold water. I know all the blood vessels are there to warm your cold water to your body temperature but it takes a while. Don't you feel the chill in your throat when the cold water gets down there? This makes your throat to become more sensitive. A lot of Asian models/artists drink warm water (don't Asian skin looks younger). Even better is to add a tsp of honey in your very first glass of warm water in the morning which adds as a detoxing agent.

A lot of Asians boil the water first then drink it when it's warm or at room temp.

Very Happy Asian boil water before drinking because tap water is not drinkable in Asia. Water needs to be boiled (contaminated) before drinking. And I think they can't kick the habit even when they live in N.A./Europe. LOL.

I try to drink at least 8 cups of water a day. I've been on a low glycemic index diet that has worked very well on diabetes and wrinkles and lost weight without really trying. I put lemon and lime slices in the water for variety also cold fridge tea. I've recently started drinking green tea every day. I read several articles that claim it helps rejuvanate cells topically applied and may have similar effects when ingested (I also brew it often for the ACV tonic and I rinse my hair with it every evening).

I do not know whether the water did it but 2 year ago when I started this way of eating I had plenty of wrinkles now I have just on that could be called a wrinkle along the left side of my mouth and it really is now breaking up into a fine line (result of glycolic acid peels and vit C).

Anyway I'm a big fan of drinking the water to improve your skin. I was dramatic improvement in my skin before I used any creams and water may have been a large reason why.

I think water tastes better before it's boiled due to the air content but it depends on your supply (what extras in it).

I think that it is incredibly important to get enough hydration everyday. I think it is more important than what we put on our skin.

I try to drink at least on glass of water or tea before each meal and one glass or water or tea with each meal. That way I get at least 6 glass each day which is approximately 9 cups.

I have a 1.5l bottle at work that I fill up at least twice during the day and then have about 1.5l at home each evening. So about 4+ litres a day for me. I agree that if it's sitting in front of you then you tend to drink it without thinking of it. I actually got worried at one point that I was drinking too much but checked with my doc and she said it wasn't anything to worry about.

I drink lots of water, especially first thing in the morning (2-3 glasses of water). I notice that the days when I don't drink enough,
I eat a lot more, and my skin is not that great.

In the afternoon, I try to take a cup of green tea.

At night, I don't drink as much because that might cause puffy eyes the next day.

I think most people don't drink enough water, to their detriment. Our bodies were designed to function at their best on water as the only fluid; every body system depends on it.

I used to live on Diet Coke Shock but now drink water almost exclusively.

The secret for me was to make it easy, so I buy cases of the .5 liter size bottles and keep em in the fridge (cause I like it that way Very Happy ) and drink 8-10 a day, plus iced tea and a couple of cups of earl grey in the am. For anything new to work for me, I have to make it easy Wink

I am not sure Confused Maybe you are in an advanced state of dehydration before drinking any, so you don't even feel thirsty. Laughing Then, as you drink some, you feel thirsty as your body gets used to it, and wants more Laughing

Really, no idea...but drinking more is not going to hurt you so I would just try to drink through the water-induced thirst, and see what happens. Wink

faith, I don't think I'm dehydrated Confused I've been drinking at least 1 litre a day for a good few months now but just recently I've been getting really thirsty by mid-afternoon and I end up drinking double that.... hmm Oh well.. bottoms up eh? Laughing
