This is an amazing forum!
I've applied my normal sunscreen (for face) but it was too greasy.
I cannot use eye cream with SPF because eye cream is too rich for me, I normally use an eye gel. I can't find any sunscreen for the eye area (or can be applied around eye area).
Any recommendations on sun-protection for the eye area? |

I use murad's essential c eye cream. It is not a gel, but it is not heavy at all and has an spf of 15. |

I second MaryR's suggestion, it is very light (I usually tap a bit of jojoba oil over it for extra moisture) and is a really good sunscreen. It comes in a hygenic pump bottle and lasts forever! |

I third that suggestion The Murad Essential-C eye cream is not heavy although it kinda looks like it might be. It's a great eye cream in the SPF category! |

I apply the Alphaderma CE to the eye area and it has an SPF15. It is very light and absorbed quickly. Not greasy at all.

I use a 30 spf sunscreen in a stick and use my favorite eye moisturizer under this. I found other sunscreens would migrate to the eye and then my eyes would burn. This has cured the problem. |

I am currently using Clinique Advanced stop signs eye spf 15 cream. Even though its a cream I wouldn't say it is a heavy consistancy, maybe light to medium. Before Clinique I was using La Prairie smart eye which was a little bit heavier in texture and alot harder on the pocket, though in saying that I will probably go back to La prairie when I run out, but they both last a very long time. Also I do have Kielhs Ultra Moisturising Eye stick spf 30, which comes in a lipstick form, it is convenient and easy to apply anywhere, but I worry about the hygene factor and HATE applying pressure to the eye area , so it only comes out when I know I need to reapply during times of all day sun exposure.
Hope this helps |

Thanks ladies
Wow, since there are 3 votes for murad's essential c eye cream, I guess I must check it out!
I was actually looking for a sunscreen for eyes (so that I can still use my favourite eye gel), so it seems there is no such product in the market... What should I do with my favourite eye gel if I get this new eye cream? As I don't want to waste it... |

Hello, there!
I like Dermalogic SPF25 Total Eye care eye cream or Avon Anew SPF15 eye cream. I also have probs with creams that are too rich for my eye area because I am prone to millia, but I have no probs with those products. |

My understanding is that the difference between a Spf 50 and 100 is not so great as between a SPF 5 and 15 for example, in fact I received an email from the place I get it from and in Europe anything over an SPF 50 will have to be described from now on as SPF 50+.
The SPF 100 has all the new sunscreens in it that are not yet FDA approved in the USA but are in current use in Europe - the new ones such as Mexoryl go far beyond any previous sunscreen in protection and is photostable offering the highest FULL spectrum sunblock you can get. (It also has a PPD of 30!!!).
It protects my white redhead skin really well and prevents new freckles popping up i the summer - although mine fade every winter I'd rather they didn't appear at all! (Badbird is the expert on this!!). (Great for me as I'm conviced I was a vampire in a previous life as I can burn even on overcast UK spring day - any more sensitive and I'd burn in anything but the dark!! ) |

There is no such thing as a sun "block". Even SPF100 only blocks 99% of UV rays. Even if someone can come up with an SPF500, it will only block 99.8%.
That's why a hat is useful even when wearing a sunscreen. |

Heehee, apparently the uses of domains change over time. Either that or the beautycenter site was hacked. I've removed the URL from the earlier post. |

Yes, I had that experience with chemical sunscreens as well. Try a physical sunscreen with zinc oxide, that's generally good for sensitive skin and the eye area. |

Same here. It's really irritating. It happens to me for physical sunscreens too. I hate having to shell out more money for another sunscreen separate for the eyes. |
