Has anyone noticed a difference with how the JI loose goes on with different moisturizers? I tried an old bottle of decleor hydra matt the other day and noticed my minerals went on way better than with my daily moisture for skinceuticals.

I also experienced for the first time the accentuation of pores and bumps that some people complain about. I think I'm going to go back to my liquid minerals soon and use the powder to 'set' it...

I wonder what I've started doing wrong...

Hi Lianne, I've noticed with hyaluronic acid serum and vitamin c only, the loose minerals sort of stick in some spots. I use some BE Mineral Veil first to prime now and I use a moisturizer as well. I was wondering about the liquid minerals for myself but was worried it would be to moisturizing for me.

I don't think my JI pressed powder likes my Dr H normalising oil very much. I wait at least 20 mins before applying the powder but it always seems to look cakey Confused Lianne, have you tried using one of the spritzers at all? I really don't want to give up my normalising oil and I've just spent a small fortune on the JI Crying or Very sad

Lianne - I have read on here that a lot of people who use JI powders (pressed or loose) buy one of the flocked sponges to blend in the areas where it accentuates pores (like around the nose). I'm still waiting on my first JI order and I got one so I'll let you know how it works for me.

I do use the flocked sponge for blending...never tried the spritzers, I may just need to.

I also use the vit c and B5 gel and didn't the day I used the other moisturizer and it looked better...hmmm...I need to experiment.

I don't find the liquid minerals moisturizing. They can get a bit shiny so they're not the best for super oily skin. They also cling to dry skin...but I seem to get a better application with it.

I think a lot of the "problems" with JI powders has to do with whether your skin has been primed or not. The powder adheres exceptionally well on smooth, dry (well moisturised and not dehydrated) skin. Excess oil tends to grab the powders resulting in an uneven application, and it darkens the powder too.

I started priming with BE Mineral Veil, after my serums and creams and it is going on much better. I am going to try silk rose dust powder as a primer Very Happy , but will have to wait a little longer...

I haven't been using my Dr H normalizing oil as I started breaking out (not from the Dr H products, I'm pretty sure) and have been using mostly beta hydroxies, vitamin c and HA serum to get that under control. It really makes a difference when I moisturize after my serums, I'm using a beta hydrox moisturizer, then use the BE Mineral Veil before either BE or JI loose minerals.

hmm...maybe it is the moisturizer not sinking in quick enough. I'll look into some primer type stuff and spritzs....

Hi Lianne,

You could try the JI Absence. It's quite smooth and does not dry out the skin. I think it will serve to "fill in" the pores and provide a smooth surface for the powder to adhere to.

I find that the loose is quite irridescent and this is one of the reasons it accentuate pores. Apply very lightly in the area with visible pores and build up the layers gradually. Smile

ok, thanks bad bird. I think I'll go to a spa and check it out...then I can try the spritz at the same time...

Jurlique herbal recovery gel works great for me, and it sinks in really quickly too.

I like using the JI liquid minerals as a thin primer before the pressed powder at times, it's really thin and natural looking, while the pressed powder covers more...

Will putting jurlique rose dust on before applying the mineral powder have the same effect as putting on BE mineral veil or JI absence? Or should I put it after the mineral powder? Confused

I think using it before your mineral foundation will have the same effect as using the mineral veil. That is what I am counting in anyway...I ordered a few days ago and am just waiting for it to some now. I will let you now in a few days if it is the same Very Happy
