I thought spider veins are only on the legs and body. Are you sure they are not broken capillaries? Have you checked with a derm? |

hi, yes i guess they are what you stated. they are on my face and getting worse. i have an appt. next week. BUT, i have been using all kinds of stuff for wrinkles like alphya h. or home derm. kits for lines and wrinles.. i just want to burn them offfff. i have been using estee lauder's products for awhile and really not doing what i want to see. can you ever get rid of lines and wrinkls using any product or a dr's visit for the unthinkable. thanks ![Pray](images/smiles/eusa_pray.gif) |

I think laser is the only way to get rid of broken capillaries. Overusing of harsh chemicals and exfoliants can give you broken caps. You should lay off your harsh products until your derm appt. |

Please don't use home microdermabrasion products when you have broken capillaries on your face. You should use a gentle exfoliant. Aga, one of our forum members was talking about Dr. Eris products for broken capillaries. You can read about these products here on EDS. http://www.essentialdayspa.com/Dr_Eris_skin_care_cosmetics.htm I believe that you can greatly reduce the appearance of them with proper skin care. Also avoid very spicy foods. Sitting in the hot sun just makes the capillaries look worse.
Janson-Beckett also has a cream for the face to treat broken capillaries (Couperose Cream). When using any product to reduce the appearance of BC's you have to be consistant using a product two times a day after cleansing. Once the capillaries seem reduced you need to continue using such a product once a day. It takes time with topical but over time they do work. http://www.janson-beckett.com/store_fld/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=55
Intense Pulse Light does get rid of the capillaries (I had it done 5 years ago). However, they can gradually return. Here is a link that explains IPL: http://www.dermanetwork.org/information/foto_facial_ipl.asp Hope this helps.

broken caps are caused by trauma to the skin...the aha and the harsh products aren't going to help 'wash' it away. I'd look into the eris products and follow your derms suggestions.
If you don't already you should stop the aha and start using products for sensitive skin! |

No cream or product will remove them. You're gonna have to use IPL or laser to do it. And i wouldnt use the anti aging creams..best anti aging cream is sunscreen, and that will prevent future broken caps as well... |

I asked a similar question here and GSR13 suggested that I us a radio frequency techniques called Vascutouch or Vasculyse. I asked my regular doctor and she said that this works better than IPL for the broken capillaries. She also said that acid peels are OK but you should NOT do microdermabrasion in areas with broken capillaries. I'm asking around here and will have this done over the next few months. I'll let u know how it comes out. |

I don't think acid peels are going to be a good idea...depends on sensitivity of skin. Also it depends on who is giving you an acid peel and percentages of acid used...I could only imagine how red someone could turn.. |

Just to confuse the issue, I had an enormous burst blood vessel under my eye and next to my nose for years. Recently it totally dissappeared
It either went naturally or it was some of the stuff I was using. If it was product, then I'm pointing te finger at C serums and/or hyaluronic acid (in the relaxaline).
Either way it hasn't come back and it was BIG! |

what is IPL ? well i have an appt. next saturday.. what do i even ask ? are any of these suggestions alot of money ? the only thing that is helping me with the reddness and broken caps is BARE ESENATIALS powder.. but there are the wrinkles..that just creeps in there. i mean i think im making things sound so awful. BUT I KNOW THEY ARE THERE AND I CANT STAND IT .. now some one said not to use anit wrinkle creams ? why ? i love my creams. the perfectionist CP from estee lauder i think is great. and i use the resilience lift face and throat.. and the advance night repair.FAITHFULLY. but dont see to much of a change in the wrinkle dept. so what should i use. coppertone ? is there any creams , serums that can help reduce the lines and wrinkles. i want to fix and prevent wrinkles. ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

I think you may just be using too many things in your face right now, trying to treat too many problems at once. If your main issue is the broken caps, you are going to have to wait until you get to the derm and they can laser it, or whatever they do. And yes, this probably will not be cheap, however, it will be cheaper than using an over-abundance of products that agrivate your skin and potentially make it worse. The best thing to do for now, is just to be more gentle on your skin. If BE conceals it, just use that for now. After the derm app, you might want to try something like Alpha Derma CE with the skin prep, with added UV protection on top for anti-aging. Maybe even a good eye cream.
For a good UV protection product, just do a search. There have been so many threads on it recently. Good UV protection will help prevent this from getting worse. |
