Hi

Just had a splurge and ordered the Jurlique kit, I know nothing about this range, except that it's natural and from Oz. Any reviews on the range? Is it any good?

Thanks

Hi Sarahb

I'm a recent convert to Jurlique and I personally thinks its a wonderful range. I also combine Decleor oils and Elemis treatment masks in my routine. I've got oily skin and started with the foaming cleanser for all skin types. I prefer wash off cleansers and this is really thorough. It's not harsh and your face feels really clean afterwards. I also use the Herbal recover gel - now theres a miracle product!! They call it a face lift in a bottle. I use it at night to replace serums etc, but I use it over my Decleor oil right now, but as the weather gets warmer, I'll use it alone. Its expensive but it really lifts and tones your whole complexion. You really should try it. For day time I use the day care face lotion and day care conditioner (refreshing toner). My skin is absolutely radiant right now and I have no plans to change my routine.
I hope this review helps you on your journey with Jurlique. Good luck!x

Hey guys, I've just ordered a few Jurlique things myself (cleansing cream and rose dust) and was thinking of trying some of their other products as well. The only thing is I'm scared that all the oils in them will make me break out? I know some oils are good for your skin but I still worry.

Neroli, you haven't had any probs with break outs? Have their products helped your oily skin at all?

Hey Princesita!

Since using this routine I haven't had any additional breakouts. I, like every other female get the monthly slurge around my chin area, and I get more sensitive around the time of the month, but I can honestly say that since adding Jurlique to my routine my skin has really just improved enormously. My tone is even and clear and radiant; the oil production is more balanced than ever! Oily skin does not take kindly to product overload and will let you know about, believe me - I've learned the hard way. Having oily skin, I dont think you'll ever banish spots completely, but you can learn what works and what doesn't. Again oily skin isn't all bad - it will help you stay younger for much longer!! All the Jurlique products are organic and very concentrated and a little goes a long way; the foaming wash is very good for spot-prone skins because it cleanses without being aggressive or stripping and that's why I use it. At night I use it with a muslin face cloth for more effective but gentle cleansing.
The day care lotion is also very concentrated so again I use literally one or two pumps maximum. I think the key thing to remember with Jurlique and other organic brands is the high concentration levels contained within the ingredients. We are so used to piling product on, thinking that more product equals more or quicker results, not so... using too much product can encourage spots and breakouts.
I personally don't use my Decleor oil under the day lotion because my skin doesn't need it. However, I use it at night under my Herbal recovery gel because I feel it works better for me that way.
If you can get samples to try then it would be advisable. All the products on EDS have detailed descriptions and recommended skin types, so read carefully. And stay hydrated with lots and lots of water, everyday, but I'm sure you know that!! -

Thanks heaps Neroli, it's nice to hear about the line from someone who's not trying to sell it. I'm always wary of asking advice from the sales girls cos I've often been told absolute bs just so I would buy something. They sell Jurlique in some of the health food stores here in Australia at really good prices so I might stop in tomorrow and ask for some samples. Herbal recovery gel sounds great but the price made me go Crying or Very sad Which decleor oil do you use underneath it? It's winter here so I will definately need some extra umpff in my night time moisturising. I haven't really been using an oils or serums in my current regime, just trying to keep it simple (if I get free samples from EDS I use them but I haven't found anything that's given me good enough results to warrant buying it). Keeping it simple is definately hard when you visit this forum on a regular basis, there's so many things I want to try!!

During the hot months I use ylang ylang sparingly, and in the colder months I use Neroli, again sparingly. Neroli is what I'm using at the moment because it is still quite cool over here in the UK, although the sun is out today!!
(I just love neroli, hence my EDS name!!)
Neroli is suitable for all skins types generally speaking but they also have specific oils for specific concerns - so ylang for oily/ combo skins is also part of my routine. My skin really loves them both. Again, I don't use them twice a day because my skin doesn't need it.
You're right, it is tempting to try everything, but thats the great thing about this forum - you can read recommendations and at EDS they always provide samples and you can sometimes request specific ones that you're interested in to try, before you buy. I'm a real skincare freak - I love great quality skin and skincare and the more natural and organic, the better in my opinion. I personally don't wear foundation or concealers etc - just face powder and bronzer, and that's why I'm so keen to keep my skin as clear and as healthy as possible. The best compliment I get is when my little 3 year old nephew falls asleep on my lap stroking my face, because he says it's soft !!
take care!!

Thanks again, Neroli - I saw ur recommendations for acne scars, much appreciated. Hey one more question, is the ylang ylang oil good for reducing pore size? I have these stupid annoying pores on the sides of my nose that I can't seem to get rid of!! I will have a look at the neroli as well. The concept of purposely putting oils on my skin still freaks me out a little but I do like the natural aspect of it and I'd love to be able to skip the makeup, so anything to improve my skin!!

Hi, Just thought I would add my 2 cents Smile

I havn't used many of the Jurlique products but I do use and love the Face Wash cream, imo way better than the Dr H Cleansing cream, I think thats what its called. Occassionly I use the calandular cream, which I think is fabulous. The rose body wash and hand cream which smell and feel beautiful on the skin. I have tried and disliked the Herbal recovery gel & eye gel, I did not see any improvement/benefits using either. From Decleor I have the neoril oil which I have not got around to using yet, but plan on squeezing this into my routine somewhere shortly. I am also eager to purchase the ylang ylang for my t-zone area, I dont suffer from breakouts but I heard this oil is super for clearing up blackheads, and unfortunitly I suffer from these on my nose area.

Good luck in your search and before you order try to collect and use as many samples as possible, because it is not an extremely cheap range, as you know. Shock

Yes, I would say so. I found it worked well on me for that, although I don't have that problem any more and I'm oily all over!!
I thinks it's the combination of thorough but gentle cleansing that really helps. Try not to over cleanse, or you'll stimulate the glands to produce more oil. I was really scared about using any oil at first but after reading and understanding a bit more about the consistencies etc, I took the plunge. I would never be without a Decleor oil in my routine now. Check out the product details on this site for a fuller description and better understanding of where and how to use them in your routine. Have you had Decleor samples before??
If you're not oily all over then just use it on the problem areas only - Dont be tempted to use it liberally all over if it isn't needed.
Also, dont over exfoliate, your skin will tell you when it needs it. Masks are very good for that large pores or congested skin problems and I use Elemis Herbal Lavendar repair mask. It's a clay mask and I just use it mainly on my chin and nose areas to keep them in check!I think that because I use a muslin cloth in my cleanisng routine every night, I find I use exfoliators far less now, maybe just once a week because the action of the cloth gently exfoliates while it cleanses, therefore reducing the need for manual exfoliation over time.

I love my Jurlique products! I use the Herbal recovery gel and the eye gel every day! The Rose silk powder smells amazing too and is a great powder to top off the make-up with to stay matte looking all day. Very Happy

Generally speaking i don't like their product in "gel" whether is herbal recovery gel or eye gel. I found that there is difficult to put on make up after using them. Herbal recovery gel the smell is quite strong.

My all time favorites are: rosewater, handcream and silkdust.

I love their mask moor purifying mask is a must for combination skin. I give it full marks Exclamation

Their shampoo and bath product are fantastic too but a bit pricy...
