Hi,
I'm currently using Ombrelle's lip sunblock (contains mexoryl), but it leaves a pasty, white cast on my lips. Can anyone recommend an effective lip sunblock that does NOT leave a white residue?
Thanks,
Katie |

I like Ceralip by La Roche Posay. I believe it has an SPF of 50. It has a nice taste to it, and does not leave too much
of a residue. |

I'm not sure the Chapstick brands have proper UVA/UVB protection. I'm looking for something with good UVA protection, but leaves little to no white residue.
Thanks,

Do you think it's safe (and effective) to apply regular facial sunblock to the lips?
Thanks,

Hi, Katie!
You know, I've oftened wondered about this, too. I know I usually pat a bit onto my lips when i apply my sublock, but I am unsure of whether or not there are any safety concerns. Doesn't Neutrogena make a lip treatment that blocked UVA/UVB rays? I can't remember. Sorry I couldn't be of any help! ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

La Roche Posay makes 2 lip products; I bought the lip cream. I probably render it inactive though, by putting gloss on top. |

FYI - MAC Tinted Lip Conditioners contain SPF15 and leave no whitish cast around lips. |

I use Blistex Pro-Care. It has an SPF30, and smells like a fruity summer drink (pineapple & coconut, I think).
It's cheap too!!

I have figured there MUST be a better sun-protecting lip balm/gloss than what I've been using. I like Neutrogena Moistureshine lip soothers (the glossy one) but its ingredients aren't the kind of protection I am looking for. It uses Octinoxate (7.5%), Oxybenzone (2%), which, if I understand correctly doesn't provide UVA protection.
I came across "Lancome Soleil DNA Guard Protective Lip Gloss spf 15" the other day that has Mexoryl XL in it, but I can't find any reviews for it, positive or negative. I want to give it a try, but it's kind of expensive (around $20 on ebay), plus shipping. Anyone else heard of it? |
