Hi guys. Does anyone know a good shampoo that is natural without chemical stuff. I heard that a shampoo with soap in it is not good for the skin of your head. And i know that its trough because it takes of the natural oil of your hair and than it becomes dry. But where i live there is not so many choices, so i was wondering if someone of you guys can help me. By the way is aveda a good product, and is there soap in it. Mostly i see that indian actresses have very shiny and not dry hair, does anyone know of there are other good indian products or something else please. And how do you keep your head healty, because i have psiorias and i do not know how i can get rid of it. I think i got it because of bad shampoos, so thats why i ask this question. And what can you put in your hair after you wash it, but not something oily. |

For a national brand, try pureology...www.pureology.com. Here is a blurb from their website...
Why is PureOlogy the most significant advancement in hair colour care technology? Several years of research revealed that there have been virtually no technological advancements in hair care for colour treated hair since the 1950's. Harsh sulfates formulated in shampoos in the 1950's, which strip hair colour and damage hair, are still being used today. In an effort to maximize colour retention, PureOlogy discovered the first prestige ZeroSulfate®, salt-free (sodium chloride) shampoos to gently cleanse the hair without stripping colour. This is good news for the 85 million women and men who colour treat their hair! The entire PureOlogy collection uses our proprietary ingredient blends including our exclusive Anti-Fade Complex™, nano emulsion ingredient technology, certified organic botanicals and AromaTherapy essences. It's Longer Lasting Hair Color Guaranteed®...the only guarantee like it in the professional beauty industry.
Zero-Sulfate®
PureOlogy proprietary blend of sulfate-free, salt-free (sodium chloride) shampoos formulated from a blend of extra gentle cleansers derived from coconut, corn and sugar to help protect hair from colour stripping and prolong colour life.
I am sure that there are many other brands that you can find at your local health food store. |

The MOST natural shampoo line I have found is aubrey organics. You can read about them at aubrey-organics.com, but you kind find them cheaper at other websites or you can also find them in your health food store. There are ZERO chemicals in it, very pure. |

I like Mastey hair products, although I can't find them in Italy. I always have to ask my mother to bring me a bottle when she comes for a visit.

Do consider MOP (Modern Organic Products). They are chemical free and use all organic plant based ingredients.
They have a specific range called 'Glisten' thats had very favourable reviews to give lustrous shiny hair !! http://www.mopproducts.com/ |

Yo Neroli. Do you use the products of MOP to and if yes, which shampoo do you use and what do you put in your hair after washing it, so that it becomes soft and not dry, without beiing oily. And which shampoo is good against itchy and psiorias and does not make your hair dull after washing it. |

The culprit causing your psorasis is the sulfates in the shampoos. Look on the bottle of whatever you are using now, and you will see that “Laural Sodium Sulfate” or “Lauryth Sodium Sulfate” is one of the top three ingredients, and it is murder on one’s hair and scalp.
I concur with the recommendation of Pureology – their products are awesome. The only problem is they are more expensive then even most other salon brands ($20USD for about 12 ounces), although the good news is that you only have to use a dime-sized amount (I know that doesn’t sound like enough, but it’s true!).
If you don’t want to spend that kind of money, or try to hunt down speciality brands right now, if you live near a Walgreens drugstore, you can pick up a bottle of a really good sulfate-free shampoo there for about $6USD. It’s called “Paves No Sulfates Allowed” shampoos and conditioners (they even have styling products, but I haven’t tried them yet). It comes in a royal blue bottle with chocolate brown and white lettering. Again, you don’t have to use much product to actually get the job done.
Most sulfate-free shampoos get a bad rap because they don’t lather as much as “traditional” shampoos. In fact, it’s these evil sulfates that actually give shampoos all that thick lovely lather, all the while it is drying out your hair and scalp (hello psorasis!) and – if you color your hair – sucking all the dye right out of cuticle.
Shampoos that do *not* contain sulfates do not lather as much, if at all, so users MISTAKENLY think that their hair isn’t getting clean, so they either apply more product than is necessary or they shampoo two or three times. Don’t worry about the lack of lather, your hair is getting just as clean, the only difference is that you’re not sucking all of the (necessary) natural oils from your scalp, causing the dryness, itching and flaking.
You seriously owe it to yourself to try one of the sulfate-free shampoos, AND commit to using it until you finish the bottle (only using it once or twice isn’t going to fix the problem caused by years and years of shampoos filled with sulfates). Not only will your hair itself be healthier as a result, but so will your scalp and you’ll probably find your psorasis is either completely cured or it is greatly improved.
Just my 2¢...
Carrie
P.S. For the record, I *did* try the MOP products, but I wasn’t impressed. I returned them to Ulta and bought another bottle of Pureology. |

Hi Carekate, thanks for your story. And yes it is true that laureth sodium sulfate is bad, because i have read it somewhere. The only stupid thing here in the Netherlands is, that i can not find a shampoo without sulfate. Even at health food stores that claims they are natural (well i think its not very natural) because in there shampoos there is also sulfate in it.. About that lathering thing, is it that sulfate is soap? That is why its lather so much i think, because i have read that it is make from cheap benzine or something, so that its easy to apply and soap does make the scalp dry, am i right? About the pureology stuff where can i order it, cause i do not think we have it here in the Netherlands. And another question, what do you put in your hair after washing it, so that it becomes soft and not dry. But also not oily, just so that your hair looks healty and not dull but thick. Greetings from me. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I'd be interested in knowing too It was featured on The Shopping Channel yesterday, but at $44.00 for a bottle of shampoo and conditioner I thought it was a bit pricey (not to mention tax and S&H!!).

P.S. Just noticed a post on it here TOGirl
