Hi Winnie
Off the top of my head, manuka honey (the pure, unrefined stuff, with high Unique Manuka Factor) is good for its antibacterial properties. Anything with a +10 UMF is considered good.
I think for dry/mature skins, manuka honey plus some sort of carrier oil mixed in would be a good nourishing mask.
Living Nature products uses it extensively as a thickening base, preservative.
It is also slightly (very slightly) acidic, so some people suggest using it as a 'peel'.
I have used Living Nature honey enzyme face peel, but found it so greasy. So I used it as a rub all over my legs instead, very moisturising!
(oh and the enzyme face thing goes BAD very fast, so I wouldn't keep it for more than 3-4 months, unless it's in the fridge)
Comvita, a natural health company, uses sterile manuka honey as a dressing for wound care.. So I'm guessing it is pretty potent.
The first link I found when I typed manuka honey into google was this:www.manukahoney.co.uk |

I haven't used it in skincare but I have it in water and drink it. I swear it makes me feel better when I'm really stressed - could be placebo effect but whatever it is it works. This reminds me that I should get some more of it...
Btw, there is an ointment in Australia that is based on Manuka honey I think and it's supposed to speed up healing of wounds. |

You have to bring this up. I just remembered that I still have Living Nature's Manuka Oil and Honey gel. So tonight I mixed it with Aloe Vera gel and Neosporin cream to put on my face to control blemishes.
Cheapest to buy it here (free shipping)

I'm sorry, maybe I can send you some to try . It doesn't need to be kept cold like their other masks. How much is it to ship stuff to the UK? |

I've got the living nature manuka and honey gel...and somehow I can't stand thee smell of it
I use organic raw honey as a facial mask at time, and it's a great base for mixing in your favorite essential oils, msm etc. to make your own masks. Honey is calming on the skin, but don't expect miracle results. It's nice as a hair-mask too. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

I couldn't stand the smell too that's why you should mix it with your favorite toner, moisturizer or just aloe vera gel like the one from Lily of the Desert or Real Aloe to reduce the smell. I realized that I have Skin Eternal DMAE serum in my bathroom closet for a while. I remember, I stopped using it because the kiwi-coconut fragrance is a bit too strong for me so I thought I should mix 3 drops of it to the Manuka Honey and Oil Gel. That somehow toned down the smell of both products. |

Hi Vegas Gal
apologies for the late reply - im having major problems with accessing the forum - must ask Mabsy's advice on that one at some point.
I enquired about shipping ages ago and it was in the region of $100 because it had to be done federal express. This was for refrigerated items though. Having glanced at the website they actually state now that they refuse to ship internationally because of the silly expense involved. Its such a shame because theyre stuff looks gorgeous .
Oh well.
