I was cooking friday evening and I suppose I had other things on my mind other then paying complete attention to the baking sheet and my arm...my arm turned bright red and started peeling after i realized I had burned myself. I put aloe vera on it at first, but it seemed like my arm kept getting redder and redder..and stung..I let my burn run under cool water and tried aloe vera again...it seemed to work nice after that. I've been trying to let the wound breathe, but I have to be careful when i change into close because i forget I have the burn and itll rub against the material im wearing:( Also, i've been using vitamin E on it to speed the healing and prevent scarring..
Any other suggestions? They are greatly needed. |

Sorry about your arm! I would think aloe is the best way to go. But pure aloe.......Aubrey does one. It doesn't have a lot of fillers like you typically find in most drugstore brands and the consistency is like water. You may have to dab it on with a cotton ball. Good Luck!!! |

If you have pure essential oil of lavender, you can apply it neat (undiluted). I keep a small dropper of lavender eo in my kitchen & have used it immediately after a burn. It helps heal & stop blistering. |

Once the burn starts to scab it's the time to treat it with a very rich oil like rosehip or commercial Bio-oil.
I got a deep ironing burn and I didn't realise to do something like apply moisture into the scar until weeks later. The edges of the scar have all blurred into the skin and it doesnt go deep purple when its cold anymore. |

For burns I always go for aloe gel with a little Lavender essential oil mixed in. |

Unfortunately, I realise this is way too late to help, but I burn myself like that I hold the burn under cold, running water for 5 to 15 minutes. Then I wrap the burn in cling film and leave it on for several hours or even overnight. It really seems to reduce the damage.
ETA Obviously, this is meant to be done immediately after being burnt. |

I use pure aloe vera straight from the plant, I find it the absolute best way to treat burns. I always have an aloe plant on my kitchen window sill -- they are very easy to care for. |

Could you tell me where I can find an aloe vera plant? I used to find them at a Meadows Farms nursery near where I live. But suddenly, nowhere. Just wondering~I would love to have one.
Thanks,
Lisa |

I bought mine at Lowes, you might want to try the gardening section of Home Depot, too. Any big store should carry aloe plants, I've even seen them in my supermarket! |
