I can't say enough about Jane Iredales pressed powder! It goes on flawless with my flocked sponge, it's a foundation, powder and sunscreen in one and is soooo long lasting in comparison to any other powder I've ever used. Plus, it's made of natural minerals! It has never made my skin break out. Very Happy

Aromaleigh and Evan's Garden foundations are my absolute favourite.

Evan's Garden is all natural and works so nicely with skin. It looks as if it sinks in immediately, not as if it builds a mineral-castle over your face. Great at camouflaging flaws, it hides them like they're not even there. Really good for your skin. Evan's Garden is a great company in general. ( Idon't use the cream)
Aromaleigh comes in pretty packaging and has a really nice glisten-y finish, unlike EG's really natural finish. More glamorous. Covers blemishes completely. It's awesome.

Mineral make up.. a miracle.

I checked both brands, they look very interesting, esp the Aromaleigh Smile

It looks like they only make powders though.
Do they give good coverage? Can you tell that you're waring powder after application?

THX!

Chanel Multivitamin Fluide Universelle. It's pretty light and is very buildable. In pictures, your skin looks fabulous and in person, it helps the appearance of tiredness I find. It's kind of expensive at just under $50 a bottle but my first bottle lasted me 2.5 years! Also, I am acne prone and no breakouts on this fdtn!

Hi Aga

I use the Pure Luxe range of mineral powders, it is pretty similar in ingredients to EG's stuff, except it has titanium dioxide.

I find that for my oily, easilly clogged pores, it is pretty good. I use a translucent powder as a primer, and the make up gives really good coverage once it sinks it.

I've had the powder on from 9am til 9pm had it doesnt have that melting effect at all.

Hi there, Aga!! wave (and ALL of you wonderful ladies on this forum!!!!)

I´ve just recently discovered Cory Cosmetics, and I have to say that this seems to be the holy grail for which I´ve been searching so long!!!!

This makeup is the best MMU I´ve found so far; having tested most brands out there.
It´s SOOOO easy to apply, covers beautifully, lasts all day and only the tiniest amount is needed to do the entire face!!!!
I think it´s also very reasonable priced.

(Maybe I should add that I´m very hard to please as far as makeup and skincare products are concerned....? Laughing Laughing )

Also; this MMU doesn´t contain any Bismuth Oxychloride (hope I spelled it right?), to which many seem sensitive; I myself beeing one.
I simply cannot stand the terrible itching it causes....... Sad

About the coverage;

IMO Cory´s MMU probably provides the heaviest coverage compared to other MMU-lines I´ve tested so far.
Now; this doesn´t mean you´ll end up with that thick and cakey look we all want to avoid!?!
As a matter of fact, I think this makeup is very versatile, and depending on the way you apply it (wet or dry; flat-top or kabuki, etc) it is able to meet a variety of needs.

I don´t want to be an enabler here, but you can buy samples of the whole MU-line (from eyeshadows to blushes and foundations for just .35$ each on her website; so, go ahead and sample away and have fun, fun, fun ladies!!!!! Laughing Very Happy )
Samples are very generous and should last at least 8-10 applications depending on how you use it.
(I think I´ve used each eyeshadow sample at least 20 times.... go figure!!)

As always; in the end it´s all about personal preferences, but I figure it can never hurt to try as many lines as possible; as we are all makeup and skincare junkies here in this forum, aren´t we....?? Shock Very Happy Laughing

To avoid any misunderstandings, I hereby want to add that I´m not in any way affiliated with Cory Cosmetics Company; I just happen to LOVE their products...... Very Happy

For traditional makeup; Kanebo Cream Finish is my absolute favorite, makes my pores go away and skin look flawless; almost airbrushed; excellent foundation!!!

Good luck in finding the ultimate foundation!!!

HTH;
Heléne

My favourite, that I keep going back to now is Estee Lauder So Ingenious in warm beige. Its a nice medium coverage that covers my redness so so well, and gives me a healthy look rather than a caked on look, which I hate! Mad And it lasts all day. Also, it isnt oily at all like my chanel vitalumiere is. Smile

I have attempted the mineral make-up and would like to try more of this, but it is really hard with internet ordering because of the colours. Out of my last three orders, i had one foundation that was wearable, but still a little dark for me. Sad One was WAY too light, another too pink. So, i continue to sample - one day.... Rolling Eyes

BTW: can anyone tell I am bored at work?? This is my third post within an hour in the middle of my day!!!

Does anyone rate Clinique? Or minerals better (and some cheaper!) do you find more expensive doesn't always mean better?

Before I started using JI pressed (which I now would never be without!!) I was a Clinique girl. I liked (well still like for that matter) Clinique's SuperFit foundation. If I ever get sick of mineral makeup (which I don't see happening!! this is what I'll go back to).

I lurrve the Exuviance Foundation, it gives a lovely coverage and has a SPF of 15 in it. I have been using the same brand now for about 2 years.

Although I really like it, I have ordered the Paulas Choice All bases covered to try, so will let you know how I get on with it!

Although I'm not a big fan of Clinique, I had no problems with their Soft Finish foundation. It was pretty good actually. I think it was discontinued though.

Since then, my HG foundations are:

Aromaleigh Glissade - lovely mineral makeup, especially formulated for sensitive skin, no bismuth, soft focus, no glow just healthy skin

Bare Faced Minerals with added vitamin E - another mineral makeup that goes on like a dream and makes your skin feel like velvet

Lancome Absolue Foundation - when my skin is feeling super dry in the winter, I'll use this for a bit. It is quite nice, but would never use in the summer!!!

NEW love- Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer with a bit of Aromaleigh on top - now this is quite a lovely combo!!! Perfect for summer! Bought the Neutrogena on a rec. from the product review forum (this site puts me in the poor house) and it really is super!!

My current favourite is Lise Watier's Anti-Wrinkle Firming Moisturizing Foundation SPF 20. The colour selection is superb and well-matches my fair skin; it has an spf 20 but isn't drying at all; feels very light but gives great coverage when needed....and really IMHO is a superior liquid foundation for any 40+'ers out there.....This stuff is fantastic! It's the best liquid foundation I've ever tried in terms of how effective it is at NOT making an aging skin look older - if you are sick of foundation making you look older give this stuff a try!

I like most any mineral foundation and will never probably go back to liquid, but Jane Iredale pressed is my all time favorite. I have never been completely satisfied with a foundation until JI.

I have tried the minerals BE and loose Jane Iredale and for me too they enhanced every pore and fine line and covered nothing and yes I used the Handi brush. This by the way I love.

The best foundation I have used is MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation, I get coverage and a beautiful finnish, I can apply this at 9am and my skin still looks natural and dewy at 9pm and that's without a primer or setting powder.
And no oilies all day Wink
