I have been debating on whether or not to order ISC Active Serum. I also have been looking at Skinceutical's Intense line defence and Cellex-C Betaplex Line Smoother. From what I can see, there isn't much difference in the three (other than a $60 price difference)and the addition of 0.5% kojic acid.

ISC Active Serum contains:

... powerful combination of 8% glycolic, 2% salicylic, 2% lactic and 0.5% kojic acids to help resurface the skin and even out skin tone.

Skinceuticals Intense Line Defense contains:

12% hydroxy acid blend (malic, lactic, tartaric, citric, glycolic)
hyaluronic acid base

Cellex-C's Betaplex Line smoother contains:

Contains 15% alpha and beta hydroxy acids in an adjusted pH, hyaluronic gel base to facilitate skin absorption.
Contains lactic acid, glycolic acid, salicilic acid, malic acid.

Any thoughts???

The other important factor is the pH of the product. You could have the same concentrations but have a less effective product because of the pH. Having said that, I have used a 10%/2% AHA/BHA product for ages and when I tried the Active Serum I didn't really see anything spectacular... In fairness, I only tried a sample of the Active Serum which gave me over a week of use from what I remember. I really like the texture of it, and I would buy it if it was cheaper, but can't justify the $$$ just based on liking the texture....

I know that there are EDS members that really love it though and find it to be very effective.

I've used all three products and am totally dedicated to the IS Clinical Active Serum, based simply on the results.

I should qualify that by saying that I don't use the Active Serum alone but have moved to a full IS Clinical regimen (with a couple of other favs thrown in here and there).

As far as I'm concerned, the cost is offset by the dramatic results. And, because the results have been so good for me, I don't waste money the way I used to trying out other crap.

Got my first order yesterday of proheal and hydracool. Included were samples of Active and poly-vit serums, firming and eye complex. Instant results. I am in heaven! My husband is now using (we sound like druggies) and loves the eye complex. His wrinkles disappeared and the active lightened his rosacea immediately and he uses Metrogel for it and that does not work. Plus he said it was better than his photfacial for lightening and firming (although more temp) and I agree. My son in college loves the proheal and hydracool samples i passed on and wants some for himself. Can you say EXPENSIVE? I am going to have to choose between the serums but I am leaning towards the active and but since I just ordered the proheal i will stick with that. Haven't tried the super yet so who knows.

Sounds like you're hooked Annie !!! If you haven't done it yet, you should fill out skin analyses for each member of your family. You don't necessarily have to go for the full routine they recommend, but my own experience is that when I actually followed the recommendations (although I never bothered with their cleansers), the results were beyond amazing...

You're right. EXPENSIVE but hey, you can always eat less.... Surprised

Well Katee, you are right. I did fill out the skin care analysis from skinterra and also visited on the phone with the skincareinstitute and then ordered from sci because they were kind enough to send samples. The consultant at sci recommended just the minimum, proheal and hydracool while using my own cetaphil cleanser and didn't try to sell me the whole line which is what I kind of felt like skinterra did w/o sending samples. Skinterra recommended just about everything on the Is line including a sunscreen even though I indicated I had one from the derm I was happy with.
My son just called and asked if I would order the proheal and hyracool for him after just using the samples for 2 days. He said it is clearing up his skin and helping to heal a very mild sunburn. He and his girlfriend of 3 years are now both using it and he says she is using up his sample way too fast and isn't wanting to share. Those girls! Could be a good or bad thing I passed on those samples.
