In my quest for a tube of the elusive Ardell's I ended up buying Avalon Organic Botanicals Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub on a whim. This product is a walnut (not almond) based cleanser packed full of good stuff like lavender, chamomile, white tea, and aloe extracts and it also has my favorite oil, jojoba and a bunch of essential oils. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it and saw that it looked exactly like a wetter version of DHCC, right down to the color and little dark specks! However, it has a very pleasant (non brewery like) lavender smell. Here's the ingredients list:
Organic Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavander), Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile), and Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Extracts, Organic Arnica Montana, Juglans Regia (walnut) Powder, Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil, Vegetable Glycein, Organic Aloe Barbadensis, Tromethamine Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Monolaurate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (Liccorice Root), Tocopherol (*Vitamin E), Vitis Vinefera (Grape Seed) Powder, Panthenol (*Pro Vitamin B5), Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Coleus Forskohli Oil, Laminaria Digitata Kelp, and Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Extract, Organic Borago Officianalis (Borage), Linum Usitatissimum (Flax), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Bromelain, Papain, Rosa Cania (Rose Hips) Oil, Steareth-2, Ethyhexlglycerin, Benzyl Alcohol, Organic Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavander) Oil, And Other Essential Oils
The cleanser is applied to damp skin, massaged and then rinsed off just like DHCC. However, it doesn't leave a greasy residue like DHCC nor does it leave a squeaky clean (too dry) feeling. I've only used this several times when I'm too lazy to oil cleanse and my face is too gross to go water only ... but so far I haven't broken out or gotten dry skin from it . At a price of 8 USD for 4 oz. and its easy availability, I can say that I seriously this stuff. |

Hello Kayanl
Thanks for posting the ingredients.. they don't look too bad! (some other Avalon products have soo many parabens in them)
Alas just another product that I won't be able to find anywhere within 30,000 miles within my country. |

Does this come with something else aside from Lavender? I'm not a fan of lavender scent. It smells like grandma's cheap perfume. |

I think Lavender is the main component in most of their products.. if it makes you feel better - it's certified organic ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiles/rolleyes.gif) |
