Cleanser for boyfriend....

I think I have convinced my SO that he should start using a cleanser in addition to a moisturizer, so I'm looking for one which could suit him.

He has skin which I would characterize as dehydrated; dry epidermis, but he still get some pimples on his neck area. He has also had some issues with exzema in the past, but that has more or less cleared (if not from his fingers, at least from his face). But which cleanser should I buy him? I'm thinking about the Dermal Clay cleanser from Dermalogica, or something with salisylic acid, as I think glycolic acid would be too much.

Comments? Proposals?

Rather than the dermal clay cleanser, if he is dehydrated, I would go with the special cleansing gel from Dermologica.

OK, maybe that's better....I was just thinking because of the few blemishes, Dermal Clay would be better. But if it's too aggressive, then it will hurt more than it helps.

(this is difficult for me; I've always had dry skin myself, with no other issues, so I don't have enough experience).

I'd stay away from the Dermal Clay cleanser if his skin is on the dry side. It's a great cleanser but I can't use it on my normal skin on a regular basis or it will dry it out.

I would suggest a cleansing milk with salicylic acid in it. I haven't tried the Cellex-C Betaplex one but it gets fantastic reviews! This one has both AHA and BHA but at very low concentration of the AHAs.

I think that the Dermalogica range is fantastic for males....and we girlies can always use it too Wink

I too think that the Clay Cleanser would be too harsh, it is drying on my oily skin.
Maybe the gel cleanser and one of the exfoliators such as the cream exfoliant.

Hey!
My sweetie has slightly oily skin, ocassionaly gets breakouts and has combo skin. The best stuff I thought for his skin was the body shops tea tree cleanser. It regulated his skin very well, and prevented the in-grown hairs that he gets from shaving. Lately he's tried my emergin c cleanser and this has also been good for him, I think it has aha's in it, i am sure it is similar to the dermalogica one.

Hi there

If you wanted to go for Dermalogica, I think special cleansing gel is the way to go. Its nice, really foamy and gentle.

Being a bloke myself, Ive tried the Anthony Logistics Glycolic facial cleanser. I know you said you think this might be a little too harsh, but honestly their products are really delicate - and effective. I would use this on a regular basis if I wasnt so completely and utterly hooked to my La Prairie.

Check out the Anthony on this website. As an extra treat - why not get him Decleor Gentle Shaving foam and Aromessence homme? This is so amazingly awesome - i really look forward to shaving in the morning! As for samples the next time you order.

Wow, thanks a lot! I'll check out the suggestions, and try and get some samples so he can try. It would be optimal if I could get hold of something in a pump bottle, to be sure he would actually use it, lazy boy. Laughing

That's why I thought of Dermalogica in the first place.
